*Diana's POV*
*Saturday, 15th of April, 2006*
I was currently standing in front of Ashton's house, waiting for someone to answer the door. I didn't expect Ashton's mother to answer the door, considering she had to deal with a handful, 5-year-old Lauren and 2-year-old Harry. I was hoping Ashton would answer the door, actually.
The door finally opened, revealing a very tired Anne Marie Irwin.
"Oh, hello dear," she smiled.
"Hi Aunty Anne Marie!" I chirped.
"Come inside, Diana dear," she gestured for me to step inside.
"I thought you would've been busy with Harry and Lauren?" I asked curiously.
"Oh, no, they went to my friend's house for a while," she replied, trying her best not to sound wary.
"Oh, okay. I was wondering..." I trailed off, looking at the floor.
"Where Ash is?" She asked. My head whipped up to look at her in shock. I nodded.
"He's upstairs in his room, he hasn't come out all day. I'm worried about him, Diana. I've got enough on my plate with those two, so I can't really focus on him, so please, let me know how he is. Okay?"
I nodded, thanking and reassuring her before racing upstairs.
I went to straight to his room to find the door closed. My eyebrows knitted together in confusion. He usually had the door open, but then again, he usually answered the door, so nothing was going as it usually would today.
I knocked on the door.
"Ashton? You in there?" I asked.
"Uh, yeah Diana, give me a sec," he replied. He sounded like he was upset.
He opened the door a few moments *A/N- unintentional reference - flicks hair* later, giving me a big smile.
But I could tell that something was wrong. His eyes were red and his smile was too wide, making it a fake one.
"Hey Diana," he swallowed, forcing another smile.
"Hi Ash," I smiled.
I walked into his room and sat down on the bed as he closed the door.
"What's wrong, Ash?" I asked, deciding not to beat around the bush.
"Nothing."
