**AMBER'S P.O.V.**
I nodded bravely at Derek even though I was in pain.He kissed my forehead. Zoey ran to get ice as Alpha Matthew and Derek left.I stared up at the ceiling, waiting on Zoey to return with ice. I knew the sky had darken and that it was raining. Zoey returned and helped me flip over onto my stomach. She started putting pressure on my back, asking me if that hurt. When she finally reached the spot where the brick hit, I screamed. I begged her to place the icebag on it, but she didn't.
"I know it hurts, but I have to make sure it didn't do any damage,"said Zoey. I heard Derek's footsteps racing down the hall. His door flew open with such force that it left a dent in the wall.He stood there with pitch black eyes.I was crying because of the pain.I held my hand out to him and he came over and held it. His eyes slowly turned back to ocean blue. Matthew stood in the doorway looking worried. I heard lightening crack across the sky as Zoey put pressure on my lower back. Darkness took me in with comfort.
**DEREK'S P.O.V.**
I listened to Amber's breath slow down as she fell asleep. Mom placed the ice pack on her back then ushered us to the other side of the room.
"Max wants to torture her?!"gasped Mom.
Dad nodded. They started talking in low voices as I stared at my sleeping mate. For once she didn't look sick or tired, she looked happy.I turned back to my parents when Dad said my name.
"I'm going to have all the wolves on high alert at school and around here.Her family can protect her at home, if that's fine with you son,"said Dad.
I nodded.She would be getting her cast off in a few days. Her doctor just wanted it on there for a few days to heal the bone. My wolf was pacing inside me.
"We have to change her, Derek,"said my wolf.
I said, "No, Jasper. Not like this."
"We may not have a choice,"said Jasper.
I said, "Dad, do I have your permission to change Amber if she agrees to be changed?"
He nodded and they left the room.I snuggled against Amber and fell asleep.
**AMBER'S P.O.V.**
I woke up to Derek's snores in my ear.I smiled and kissed his nose. He blinked a few times then kissed my forehead.I wiggled my toes to see if I had control of them.I sighed in relief that I could move them. Derek turned as I got dressed for school. Zoey lent me some clothes to wear for school.
