I tried to forget what I learned yesterday. I went to school and made it through the day in a daze. Derek noticed I was out of it and asked what was wrong.

I said, "It's nothing, I'm just worried that my medicine won't work."

Derek looked taken back by my words. I completely spaced when I said that. He doesn't know about my disease.

I said, "I have a disease called Advanced Cycle. I go through cycles of extreme sickness and possibly can die from it."

His face changed into concern.I just shook my head and smiled. He understood what I meant and dropped the whole conversation. Max and Jake came up to us when Derek was walking me to my motorcycle. I flinched when Max brought his hand down on my shoulder. Derek let out a growl.I felt weird like I was having an out of body experience. I closed my eyes and when I opened them I was at the scene of a fatal car crash.

"Officer Daniels, tell me what happened here,"said Captain Steels.

"Sir, the couple and their daughters was going to visit friends here in Westwood and Mr. Flinch swerved to miss a deer and the car rolled several times. The paramedics tell me that the couple and the older daughter died on impact and the younger daughter is in critical condition,"said Daniels.

Mom and Dad appeared beside Captain Steels. Mom started crying and Dad sent her back to the car.

"Captain, what happened to my friends?"asked Dad.

The vision stopped after I blinked. I looked around and saw Max, Jake, and Derek starring at me with concerned looks on their faces.

I said, "I'm fine, it's a side effect from the medicine."

They helped me up and I got on my bike and torn out of the parking lot. I beat my brothers home and did my homework. I went out for a run with Trick following just in case was to pass out.I stopped by the waterfall and took a deep breath. Trick drank from the lake.I started to get up, but I fell back down.I pushed myself too hard today. Trick bent down so I could get up.I saw my Dad waiting for us.I got off Trick and waved goodbye. Dad helped me inside.I went to bed and fell asleep. Dad felt my head to see if I had a temperature as I slept.

The next morning, I was throwing up.I had the flu the doctor concluded. It wasn't one of my cycles.Mom wanted to stay home, but I begged her to go to work.I shuffled around the house. I made me some soup and slept all day. Dad got home and took my temperature again. It was back to normal. I still felt like crap though.I slept past dinner and into Thursday evening. I felt a lot better and ate dinner with my family.Dad talked about this new contract that required him to stay out of touch for a week. We nodded and smiled.I did my missing work and then watched tv with my brothers. We went to bed after Say Yes to the Dress. I made my brothers watch it.

Dad left a few minutes before we went to school. I drove to school and smiled at Derek who was waiting outside for me. We flirted in secret during class since our teachers kept pairing us up.In Forensics class today, we have to look at a crime scene.Miss Missions had pictures of a fatal car crash on the screen.

"How did this happen? Before raising your hand look closely,"said Miss Missions.

I looked at the screen then turned white. I pinched my cheeks to put color back in them.I raised my hand.

"The man swerved to miss a deer and the car rolled several times. The couple and the older daughter died on impact and the younger daughter was in critical condition when they airlifted her to the hospital."

"Yes, that's correct. How did you know that, Miss Woods?"asked Missions.

I said, "I was in the car crash you're showing. I have very little memory of that and my life before that."

Miss Missions paled at my words and everyone else was silent. Derek tightened his grip on my hand.

"I'm sorry, Miss Woods.I didn't know,"said Missions.

I shrugged and smiled to let her know it wad alright. Derek relaxed his grip and everyone started breathing again.

After school, Derek and I were hanging out at the football field. We were just talking about random things. I finally got up the nerve to ask him about werewolves.

I asked, "Are you a werewolf?"

Derek choked on his soda and started coughing. I watched him get his breath back.He avoided looking me in the eyes. I knew he was hiding something from me.

"Why would you ask something like that?" asked Derek.

I opened my mouth to say something, but I felt vomit coming up my throat. I ran for the bathrooms. Derek ran behind me.I threw open a stall and started throwing up. Derek held my hair back for me as puked. I caught my breath. Derek listened to my lungs and could tell that I wasn't able to breath properly.

He asked, "Are you okay?"

I shook my head no.Derek picked me up and took me to the hospital. He explained what happened to my mom and brothers. Dr. Mix came over to them.

"It seems that your daughter's Advanced Cycle is farther than her previous doctor thought. We do have another option. The FDA approved of a new medicine that was used to treat this. It comes in the form of a shot, though. It works for this far advance in her disease. It prevents the cycles and can steady her breathing. I do suggest that she carries a shot and inhaler with her at all times," said Dr. Mix.

Mom agreed for me to try the new medicine. I was discharged and I went to sleep in the car. Derek pulled Jake and James aside.

"You two need to learn how to keep your mouths shut around your sister. Today, before she had breathing problems, she asked me if I was a werewolf. She over heard you talking about rules and werewolves."said Derek.

My brothers grimaced and looked at me asleep in Max's arms. Jake studied Derek then looked beyond him.Derek turned and saw the Alpha standing there. He went over to him.

"Derek, where have you been? Your mother has been worried sick about you,"said the Alpha.

"Dad, I attend school then hang out with my girlfriend, who is sick and might not have long to live,"said Derek.

The Alpha took his son home. Derek gave his mom a hug and a smile then glared at his father.

"Mom, I have a girlfriend and she's very ill,"said Derek.

"She's a human?"asked his mother.

"Yes and I love her very much. Her family are werewolves, but she was adopted after being in a car accident when she was ten. She has no memory of her former life,"said Derek.

His mom looked at his dad.

"We should at least meet her, Matthew,"said his mom.

Derek's dad sighed and nodded.

"Dinner tomorrow night if she's well enough,"said Matthew.

Derek hugged his mom again then went to bed.
