Her heart;

As i embraced her in a hug,
I could feel her heart beat so strong I thought it was my own,
Her heart so powerful it felt like it wanted to jump out of her chest,
And maybe it did,
Just like lungs gasp for air when deprived,
Maybe her heart couldn't take it anymore,
Maybe she was too deprived of love.
But she clung to her heart with all that she had,
For me.
And for herself.
And all I could do was hug her tighter and longer and let her know I loved her,
Hoping her heart would decide to stay,
Hoping that maybe I could help heal her wounds,
Hoping that the tears would stop,
Hoping that the love I carried would be enough for the both of us.

*dedicated to the strongest and most beautiful woman I know - love you mum*
