Amberflame awoke with a Start. Graylight woke her up by pushing her. She let out a low hiss. "Come on Amberflame, you can't lay here forever. We need to go on the morning patrol." Amberflame let out a long yawn and nodded. She got up and stretched.
She padded out of the den and looked around for Ravenstar. He was standing by the highrock. He nodded at her to go on the hunting patrol. She bounded after Graylight who was padding away slowly. Wait... it's just me and him? This will be bad... I think Ravenstar did this on purpose...
They padded together side by side. She looked down at her paws as she walked. Suddenly she jumped behind a bush. "Uh... Amberflame? What are you doing?" She quickly pulled him in too. She kept him quiet with her tail. In the distance they could see Blossompaw and some other strange cat.
They were close enough to hear them. The cat Blossompaw was with was white with black stripes, he had a lot of scars. He was a very big cat as well. Graylight quietly hissed at me. "She's in trouble! We need to help!" Graylight whispered. She shut him back up with her tail.
Blossompaw started, "I don't know about this Rain... it's my clan." Rain bristled. *(Rain is the cat she's talking to.)* "the clan is going to fall apart Blossompaw! Leave that clan now before you die!" What in Starclan's name is he talking about!? Blossompaw moved her eyes to the side. "Can't I wait until I'm a warrior... I mean.. I don't want to leave quite yet.." rain rolled his eyes.
"Don't lie to me Blossompaw! You're suffering and I know it! You can fake your own death and then leave with me!" Blossompaw was speechless, she was stuttering between words. "Rain... can't I stay a bit longer.. please."
Rain rolled his eyes once more and nodded. He padded away into the distance. Blossompaw ran back to camp. Graylight was left speechless and so was I. Graylight started. "We must tell Ravenstar! We have to!" Amberflame made him stop talking with a motion of her tail.
"We can't tell Ravenstar, what would she think of us? We have to wait till she fakes her own death, then Ravenstar will know the truth. And she might not even go through with it." Graylight jumped back at her calmness. "Wait.... Amberflame... uh.. Fine....." Graylight stuttered.
Graylight and Amberflame went on their morning hunt. They didn't really catch much, knowing that leafbare was upon them. They only caught 2 mice. As they were padding back to camp, Amberflame didn't even look at him, even though he looked at her a lot.
They both stopped once they got back to camp. Blossompaw was there with a shocked look on her face. She thinks that we heard. I nodded to Blossompaw. She nodded back. Frostpaw pounced on her back playfully. "Blossompaw! You need to loosen up more!" Frostpaw purred while on top of her.
"Frostpaw! Get off me! We aren't kits anymore so stop acting like one!" Frostpaw slowly got off of her. "Hmph! I was only trying to have some fun! I'll just play with Tinypaw then!" Frostpaw spat. Frostpaw ran over to the apprentice den looking for her. Blossompaw rolled her eyes and got back up.
She padded over in the distance. This is gonna be a long day....
