Chapter One
I can't believe that they're doing this to me.
"Please mum, don't make me go!" I cry helplessly, begging at her feet.
"Darling, nothing will change my mind." She said, her voice stern "You're going to this school no matter what. Our ancestors have been attending this boarding school for hundreds of years. It's a boy and girl boarding school so you won't be too deprived!"
"Seriously mum, you know I love my school" I object tearfully, "the boarding school will have so many rich and spoilt kids who I already know I probably won't like."
"Just because they're rich doesn't mean that they're bad people. We're rich and you seem to like yourself very much - so don't assume" She growled, looking fed up.
You heard right, my family are incredibly rich. Our house, our belongings, our servers and security guards - they're all fit for royalty. I guess that's what happens when your parents work in a top priority business dealing with god knows what amounts of money.
"Why do you have to ruin my life?" I scream in her face.
This isn't the first time our wealth has gotten in the way of my life. People would be dying to be in my position yet I'd do anything to be a normal girl with parents who were always home.
"Sweety," mum sighs "the term starts tomorrow, you'll need to pack."
"Fine." I snap, turning away from her without a second glance.
I beg to all the goddesses above that there is at least one person at this boarding school who is a little like me. I won't last in a place where your tucked in shirt is more important than just simply learning. Particularly since I will be living there for more years than I would like to count.
I'm currently in Year 11, a sixteen year old who can almost taste the end of school. However, the stupid boarding school my parents are sending my brother and I too doesn't just go up to grade twelve; apparently you stay there for university too. Sigh.
My brother has already been going to the school for a year, so he doesn't mind going back. Particularly since I've heard he is a massive hit with the ladies. Despite him being only a year older than me and a close friend, I never want to hear about my brother, Sean, and how 'incredibly hot' he is again. Something I've been hearing since childhood.
I enter my room and pull out my light blue suitcase; it's about half the size of my Queen Size bed. My parents will check my bag so I put in all of my best clothes. I then put in everything I would need on a day to day basis. I love my parents, but it seems like when they're home all they do is worry about me.
I look in the big mirror against my wardrobe door. I look tired. Despite this, my blonde hair sits exactly as it always do, and my eyes glimmer ocean blue like the rest of my family.
It's hard to pretend to be someone else when your entire family look like mirror images of each other.
Once I have finished packing, I zip up the bag and lean it against the wall. I look outside to where the moon is shining and sigh; this will be a long year.
Tying my hair back, I get into my nighty and snuggle down into my cosy bed for the last time.
I close my eyes and let sleep sweep me away.
