Four weeks.
It'd been four, painstakingly long weeks since Blaine saw Anya.
He could still feel her lips pressed against his own. Sure, he had been greedy and stole a kiss from her, but his control had been at its limit.
Blaine couldn't stop thinking about her since the day she left. No, that wasn't true. He hadn't stopped thinking about her since her name was first mentioned at one of the Submits several years ago. That had been the day he'd become interested in the woman, and the interest only grew the more her name came up.
It was just pure luck that she had taken a liking to his home, and he used that to his advantage.
The fact that she ended up being his mate brought a small smile to his face.
The descriptions that the other Alphas had given of her did no justice to the beauty that left his land four weeks ago. Anya's slim body had just the right amount of curves - with brown eyes that seemed to be lit with mischief and curiosity. But what completed her looks was the red hair that matched her fiery spirit. Her humor had been a surprising perk. Blaine still found himself laughing at her remarks that day.
He had done good in choosing her.
Unlike Anya, Blaine had felt their bond at full force. Every time he'd touched her, pleasurable sparks were sent through his body. Sparks so strong he had to find different ways to make contact with her.
Blaine had blocked Anya's end of their bond. She'd only felt it in small amounts when he would purposely slip up. He'd wanted her to feel what he felt - more than just those pleasurable sparks he'd get when he touched her. But he knew the true reason why she didn't feel their bond had been due to his current state. That if he were himself again, she would understand.
He could still feel the stabbing pain from when she said he wasn't hers, but he reminded himself that she couldn't feel what he felt yet. That's what made him even more anxious to gain her trust. Blaine wanted her to see that he truly was hers. He wanted to tell her who he was and why he had so much to protect.
But right now he needed to see her. Four weeks had gone by and she'd never once came near their masked border lines.
He rolled his eyes at his own thoughts. Why would she come back? He was almost positive he had irritated her beyond her limits, but he couldn't help it. In most cases he hadn't meant to, like when she asked the questions he couldn't answer. But in others he did it just to receive one of her sarcastic remarks.
Regardless of their misunderstandings, he was going to find her. He was desperate to see her again.
He stood from his office chair and made his way out, stopping briefly at the mirror that hung above a stand along the wall. He looked at the man reflected in the mirror - the man that outsiders came to know as Blaine Rose. The man that his pack would address him as outside of their home.
Blaine hated this form. He hated that he had to hide who he was outside of his pack. He knew he could go out in public without a disguise, but this form managed to cover up the immense power that radiated off him. It was like a mask and hidden behind that mask was a deadly truth. A truth that put him at risk.
One that could've been avoided if his mother wasn't a fool.
Blaine shook his head at the thought of his mother. He despised her. Yes, he loved his pack and the people within it, but because of his idiotic mother's actions they were all at risk.
It had been three years since his mother last made contact with him, and that was to disown him for being tainted with "the filth of his people."
He, as well as his pack, hated her.
The temperature in the room began to drop to a bone-chilling cold as Blaine's eyes changed from deep green to an icy blue. His chest rose and fell quicker as his breathing hitched. The fists at his sides clenched and unclenched the more he thought about his mother.
Blaine wanted to wring her neck. He wanted her to pay for what she had done, and one day she would.
A loud knock sounded on the door.
"Da- I mean Blaine, could you not freeze the place up? It's bad enough that it's freezing outside and you're not making it any better by throwing a tantrum. Quit thinking about that God awful woman and come out would you."
Instantly the rage Blaine felt ceased. His eyes turned back to their original color and the temperature started to gradually raise in the house. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath to rid the last traces of his anguish before walking over to the door and opening it.
The dark haired man that stood outside could only roll his eyes when he saw his Alpha. He may be nearly a foot shorter and much younger than him, but even he could intimidate his Alpha in a small way.
He didn't like when his Alpha thought of that woman, no one here did.
Looking Blaine up and down, the younger man raised an eyebrow at him. "I take it you're going out?"
A sheepish smile crossed Blaine's face at one of his most loyal companions' question. It wasn't like he could hide the truth when he looked like this. He only took this form when he went outside the pack.
"As a matter of fact yes, I am. I was about to go and get you right after I got Darius, Soren."
The side of Soren's mouth twitched in slight confusion before he realized what his Alpha was planning. "Blaine, is this about that woman you brought here a month ago? I know you said she was your mate, but do you really think it's a good idea to get involved with her?"
Blaine couldn't help but slightly narrow his eyes at the eighteen year old in front of him. He knew Soren was only concerned about his and everyone else's safety, but he had to see Anya again. His wolf had begun to stir, and would continue to as long he was away from her. That alone irritated him.
Soren sighed as he shook his head. He trusted Blaine not to make any irrational decisions. He knew Blaine would cut ties with the redheaded woman if need be. "Fine, I trust you. But shouldn't we take Jack with us instead?"
"Nah, The pack will be just fine without their Beta for a few hours."
A smirk formed on Blaine's face as he left the room and ran down the hall, Soren's face filling slowly with realization.
"You're gonna regret provoking that woman by bringing Darius along, Blaine! It's bad enough she's already scary!"
Blaine couldn't help but laugh and yelled back his response as he continued down the hall. "I trust you'll be able to track her down for me, Soren! Meet me at my house in 20 minutes!"
A/N This is late but I had matter ls more important to tend to these last two days so I apologize.
