-----Time Skip----
"RUN!" Tobias bellows at me, grabbing my wrist. I start running with him, as fast as my legs can carry me.
What were these creatures? And why did they have such human like eyes? That doesn't matter now. Now I must run.
I swear we ran for hours, into the deep forest. "I-....think-..." Tobias pauses, leaning against a tree. "We-...l-lost em." He pants.
I nod, and sit on the hard forest ground. 'Where the hell were we?' I thought. I knew we were nowhere near the Amity compound, that's for sure.
After catching our breath, I finally got up. "What do we do now?" I asked, shrugging.
"Walk." Tobias said as if it were obvious. I nodded plainly. "What wa-..." I began but was cut off. "This way." He said, pointing north. I swore he could read my mind.
Before I could say anything else, Tobias grabbed my hand, and led me through the dense forest. This must be good hunting grounds.
We had been walking an hour, in the most miserable silence, as Tobias gently rubbed circles on my palm with his thumb to comfort me. He opened his mouth to say something, but closed it when we heard a noise.
My head snapped around to the left where the noise had originally started. Tobias wrapped a protective arm around me. "Shh..." He said, glancing around.
All of a sudden, a blonde boy stepped out of the woods, his sword pointed at us. "Don't. Move." He hissed. I blanched. This boy was taller, and most likely stronger than Tobias. "Who are you and what are you doing here?" The blonde asked, stepping closer. Tobias quickly explained the Amity compound, and the events leading up to the strange creatures that had chased us here.
"Muttations." The boy said, spitting on the ground. "What's your names?" He asked, lowering his sword. "I'm Tris-..." I said hollowly. "Tobias." He said, releasing his tight hold. "Cato." The boy said, leaning against a tree. "W-where are we?" I looked up with scared eyes. "District 2." He answered. District 2? What faction was that? "District?" Tobias asked, raising an eyebrow.
Cato's face suddenly contorted with understanding. "You two-...you're from beyond the fence aren't you.." He said, more like a statement than a question. "Fence? Oh...yeah." Tobias nodded. Cato bit his lip in thought.
"Lets go." He suddenly said, motioning for us to follow as he began walking, whilst sheathing his sword.
Tobias began rubbing my palm again, and he could tell I was tense. 'You okay?' He mouthed to me. I nodded.
We soon reached a small village. A town, really. People stared. They didn't look like us.
Cato led us to a seemingly large house. He pushed the door open and gestured us inside. A short, thin woman layed on the couch. She glanced up. "Hey Cato I-...who are they?" She asked, sitting up. "Tris, Tobias..." Cato gestured to me. "Clove." Cato pointed to the freckled girl. She waved silently, and walked behind us as Cato enveloped her into a hug. Probably his girlfriend.
