Tris POV
Walking over to the kitchen area, I ask, "Tobias. Do you want to listen to some music while we make some dinner?" We were just given this reengineered device a week ago, and it is supposed to play music, among other things.
Comming in behind me, Tobias jokes, "What are you, Amity? I thought you didn't have the aptitude for that faction." He is smiling as he grabs a pan from the cubberboard.
Shrugging, I say, "You never know what type of music could be on that thing."
"Yeah, that.. What is it called? iPhone?"
I nod. They showed us how to use some of the devices functions. You click on this thing called an app. Then you pick out which song you want to listen to, but they also showed us how put on shuffle, which seems much easier.
Picking up the device, I turn it on and watch the screen light up.
Tobias is getting out the items to make spaghetti. Suddenly, I hear something pouring into the floor that sounds like rain. I look to Tobias, and he is standing there helplessly with half of the box of noodles on the floor. The box in his hand has ripped down the middle, and roll my eyes.
He sputters, "I-I didn't mean to." He is so cute when he is guilty. He has grown accustomed to showing his soft side around me, especially since he proposed and the wedding. Tobias even scolds himself if he slips into his Four persona at home.
I chuckle, "That's alright." Hitting shuffle, a song starts to play.
Lately, I've been, I've been losing sleep
Tobias looks at me confused as the music continues to play.
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I've been, I've been praying hard,
Said, no more counting dollars
We'll be counting stars, yeah we'll be counting starsI smirk at him, knowing he can tell what I am getting at. Sighing, he admits, "Alright, so it's not Amity." I smile knowing he just admitted music was not exclusive to Amity.
My head starts moving to the beat because this is a pretty decent song.
I see this life like a swinging vine
Swing my heart across the line
And my face is flashing signs
Seek it out and you shall find
Old, but I'm not that old
Young, but I'm not that bold
I don't think the world is sold
I'm just doing what we're told
I feel something so right
Doing the wrong thing
I feel something so wrong
Doing the right thing
I could lie, coudn't I, could lie
Everything that kills me makes me feel aliveAs he cleans up the fallen noodles, I notice Tobias tapping his foot to the rhythm.
Lately, I've been, I've been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I've been, I've been praying hard,
Said, no more counting dollars
We'll be counting starsSoon he is bobbing his head to the music too.
Lately, I've been, I've been losing sleep
Dreaming about the things that we could be
But baby, I've been, I've been praying hard,
Said, no more counting dollars
We'll be, we'll be counting starsI grab the unopened box of noodles, and place them on the counter. Then I put water in the pan, letting it heat up to boil. Meanwhile, Tobias is still trying to clean up the crunchy strands of pasta off the floor.
I feel the love and I feel it burn
Down this river, every turn
Hope is a four-letter word
Make that money, watch it burn
Old, but I'm not that old
Young, but I'm not that bold
I don't think the world is sold
I'm just doing what we're told
I feel something so wrong
Doing the right thing
I could lie, could lie, could lie
Everything that drowns me makes me wanna flyLately, I've been, I've been losing sleep

We'll be counting starsAfter Tobias has cleaned the noodles up, we end up attempting to dance to the rest of the song. I don't think it looked much like dancing, but we tried. We also heard crunching under our feet, signifying that not all of the noodles were off the ground.

The lessons are learntTobias and I laughed at ourselves when the song ended. The water starts to boil, so we go back to making dinner. We will have to listen to music more often.
Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed! Please, tell me how you thought I did. I know this is a different from most fanfictions because it focuses on fictional characters and one song per chapter, so let me know how I did. I would love to hear your feedback!
