Alaska's POV

Calum was my boyfriend. Those were words I thought would never even form in my mind. And I was meeting his mother, tonight. Other things that 2 months ago I would have laughed at the fact of.

I drove home after a little while at Michaels house, excited for tonight. I didn't know how Calum's mom would react to me. Her sister and I had a good bond but Joy, well I had only said a few words to her..

"AURORA!" I yell from the bottom of the stairs my sister coming out of her room.

"I need you to help me pick out a ''meeting the parents' outfit"

She nods calling me upstairs. I tell her every detail, as usual, causing her to smile wide.

"Laskas got a boyfriend! Laskas got a boyfriend!" She shouts, me elbowing her hip to shut her up.

My dad peeks into my room and laughs.

"Alaska, is it that Calum boy?"

I nod, my stomach filling my happiness. I loved the word boyfriend. I loved how I was his girlfriend. I loved us.

"Good.. I like him."

I smile and close the door, slowly turning my back away from my sister.

"Makeup time!!" I shout, slightly croaking from the volume.

"Nice one." She says sarcastically, rolling my eyes in return.

I keep my makeup at a downlow, much more toned than my normal look. I didn't want to seem too.. Well, slutty. I wanted Calum's mom to respect me, because well I never got much respect from my previous relationships.

I went out with a boy over the summer from my moms area. He was lovely at first but turned into some monster. Let's just say I have a few, bumps and bruises from him. Physically and mentally. But this wasn't time to go back to my past of things that didn't go right. Because frankly everything in this moment, was right.

I drove to Calum's house around 5:30 and rung the doorbell. I fixed my skirt so it was at a some what appropriate length for meeting the mother.

"Hello beautiful." He chirps, causing me to smirk slightly.

"Cheesy."

"I know."

He wraps his arm around my waist, closing the door loudly behind us. I jump a little at the sound of the slamming door, Calum's arm holding my side even more.

"Mom she's here!" He yells into the kitchen, his mom coming to the opening of the hallway.

She opens her eyes in surprise and wipes the flour off her black shirt.

"Hi sweetheart, Alaska right?" She says walking towards me.

I nod. "Hi! Nice to meet you." I say, her going in for a hug.

"Again." A voice adds, causing me to turn around abruptly. Mali.

"Hi Mali!" I say quite awkwardly, shifting my attention back on their mother.

"Oh! You're a friend of Mali's too! Wonderful." She says, moving back over to the food on the stove.

Calum grabs my arm slightly, causing me to flinch. I had a weak nerve there from a past event. I had been punched there and it messed up a nerve I guess.

"I'm sorry babe. I didn't mean to hurt you."

"It's okay! Don't worry about it. That's just a weak spot."

I say, forcing a smile on my face. I would tell him how it got that way eventually, but I felt we were just starting. It was too soon for pouring out my heart into a lifetime drama series.

"Anyways.." Joy says taking a pan off the stove.

"Shall we eat?"

Calum's POV

Everything was going great so far. Alaska and my mom were actually getting along. Talking about school and siblings.

"So where do you plan going to college?" My mom states with a calm voice.

I got nervous, waiting for Alaska's calm eyes to look over at me and say wherever I was. But she didn't.

"I've gotten a few acceptance letters from places here and um.. Well in America."

My heart sinks. The year was almost over. How would I handle her being in America. Millions of miles away from my arms.

(A/N: GUYS WHILE WRITING THIS I JUST SAW THAT WE WERE AT 1.26K VIEWS THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST EVER!!)

"But I still have the summer to think about it I guess."

"Yea... That's wonderful. Calum hasn't gotten any yet.. Wonder why!" She looks over at me, causing Alaska to laugh under her breath.

She sets her fork down on her empty plate and smiles softly looking at me, then my mum.

"That was delicious thank you Mrs. Hood."

"You're welcome sweet pea.. Oh and call me Joy hun."

She nods and gets up, me following her.

"Mum were gonna go upstairs. Thanks."

"Okay honey. Be good." My mum says getting up and taking my plates.

We get to my room, and I shut the door behind us.

"America?" I say sitting next to her on my bed.

"Yea. America." She sighs shakily.

"I don't know." She says.

I wrap my arm around her waist, pulling her closer to me.

"Thank you. For coming tonight. I'm sorry that my mom asked all those stupid questions, regardless it means a lot. She really misses having people around, ever since my dad left for another woman, She really loves having people visit."

"No problem.. There's no place I would rather be right now." She says leaning her forehead on my shoulder.

I didn't know what I felt in that moment. But 3 words were the only thing I wanted to say. But my heart wouldn't allow it. It just wouldn't.
