"Alright, here's the plan. All of you," the Prince began, addressing ten of his officers. "you are to strike conversations with the other guests. They are not to know that you are apart of the royal court. I need you to find out what they like about the King's policies, what they don't like, and what they'd want improved upon or taken down. As for the servants, you are to eavesdrop on conversations and pick up vital information and report it back to me or one of the officers. Understood?"
Everyone nodded. One of the officers, flicking her auburn hair over her shoulder, raised her hand. The prince nodded in acknowledgement.
"Why don't you just ask them yourself in a meeting and get the view points directly from them?" she asked.
He thought back to what Katalina had told him.
"If I bring it up to them directly, none would dare speak down upon the King's ruling. Other than that, I believe they would be greatly impressed, especially since we have the element of surprise." he said.
They nodded their approval and the Prince dismissed them. Everything was almost done. He had roughly 2 hours left before guests were to start arriving. He watched them prepare for the party. Suddenly, he remembered something vital.
"Attention everyone!" he said and they all turned to face him. "Is anyone aware of Katalina's whereabouts?" he asked.
"Yes, my Prince. She is with the others cleaning and decorating the entrance. Do you wish for me to fetch her for you?" asked the servant.
"No, keep her busy. Katalina's temper could cause trouble as usual. She is not to be granted entry. Understood? I want at least three of you to guard the door as well as greet the nobles."
"Yes, my Prince." they said in unison and walked off.
"So Neffarius has finally learned to separate pleasure from business, hm?" Pierce said, smirking.
"Today is an important day. Even Katalina would have to deal with my anger should I fail."
"I'm proud of you. How did you come up with this plan anyways?" asked Liam, stroking his hair backwards so that it lay flat.
"I had a little help." the prince admitted.
"From who?" they asked.
"Katalina."
Pierce raised an eyebrow and Liam's jaw dropped.
"Katalina?!" they bellowed.
He nodded. "What's so hard to believe about that?"
"That girl hates you and just about everyone else here." Pierce said.
