The Prince sat at Katalina's side rubbing the medicated lotion on her stomach. He wondered why it was necessary or what it did for her but continued to apply it anyways. Katalina lay on her back with her eyes closed listening to the faint rustling about from the servants. One hand rested on her chest and the other twirled strands of hair that lay idly about. Again, there was a knock at the door.
"Come in." called the Prince.
The Queen walked in alongside Natallia. The Queen sat in the chair and patted Katalina's arm, smiling at her son. The Prince smiled in return and continued rubbing Katalina's stomach. Natallia pushed the glasses up on her nose and studied the room.
"Great, everything seems to be of the perfect atmosphere. Has she been throwing up as much lately?" she asked.
"Yes but they've not been as painful." said the Prince.
"Good. And her mood swings?"
"She gets really affectionate for a few hours and then she'll be kind of depressed for a bit. A bit of anger here and there. I try to find whatever she's craving at the moment so she wont get so sad, that seems to help." he said.
Natallia smiled and gave a dramatically slow clap.
"It would seem the Prince would make an amazing father. I hope you will show your child as much attention as you do Katalina." she said jokingly.
He chuckled.
"I will share my affections with them both." he said.
Katalina smiled at this. The Prince gently tapped her stomach to let her know he was done but did not remove his hand. She slowly opened her eyes and sat up.
"Oh, Katalina, you're awake." said the Queen.
"Hello." she said softly.
"How've you been feeling?" asked Natallia.
"Fine. A few headaches and a bit of nausea. Nothing I can't handle." she said.
Natallia nodded.
"That's good." she said.
"How's dad?" asked Neffarius.
His mother smiled weakly.
"He'll come around." she replied.
Neffarius nodded. He looked to Katalina who simply smiled in response. She sat up on the bed and hugged her knees, looking at the Prince through her hair.
"We need to get you new clothes." he said and rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb.
"That you do. She'll start showing soon and these rags won't do anything for her." said the Queen.
"I'll take her shopping. Get dressed and meet me in front of the palace, okay?" she said.
Katalina nodded and Natallia and the Queen got up to leave.
"Congratulations again, my Prince." said Natallia.
"Thank you." he replied.

"Which one do you like Katalina?" asked the Queen.
Katalina was completely absorbed in the many different colors and the variety of dresses and jewelry and make up. It had been years since she was able to leave the palace, let alone visit another part of the kingdom.
