Chapter 5

Chapter 5: List

Naroo's POV

Naruto yawned as he flipped around in the bedsheets, Juugo's body tangled with his. He slowly pushed himself away from Juugo and stretched his limbs. His tail was waving back and forth slowly as he elongated his arms to the pillow and arched his spine, backside facing the ceiling. Naroo watched as Juugo slept peacefully. He looked so calm and dare say it, handsome. 

I slowly got up and scratched the backsides of my ears, breathing softly. I felt strange. Slightly homesick. It was like, I missed my village, yet I didn't know. There was also Juugo. I was slowly warming up to him and I liked cuddling with him at night. He was just so nice and very loving, nobody had ever treated me that way back then. And here was Juugo with open arms and helping me when I was in fox form, and defending me in my human form. Naked or not.

I also felt more aware of my surroundings. I could hear Karin in the kitchen, probably making some food or trying new recipes. I could also hear Suigetsu practicing in the training area with Sasuke sitting calmly to himself on a nearby rock. These new Kyubi powers that enhanced my senses felt sensitive yet simple. It opened my ears to a whole new world, slightly animalistic side, and  I was beginning to love it.

I watched as Juugo turned to his side and reach out to where I would lay. He patted the area a few times before getting up swiftly. He looked at the spot where I was sleeping, then looked up at me, his look of panic transforming into a look of relief. He smiled, I smiled back. "Morning Juugo." I said softly, waving shyly. I don't know why I was acting like this. He only saved me, I couldn't possibly have a crush on him already.

"Morning Naroo!" Juugo said warmly, a bit too excited as he rubbed his eyes of his sleep. He moved forward and enveloped me in a gentle hug. "How are you today?" Juugo said, nuzzling Naroo's shoulders.

"I'm good, I feel well rested, and my ankles feel better, maybe even fully healed." Naroo said as he got up and tested his feet. It was easy to walk now, but there was still a dull ache that was present, if he walked too fast.

As Juugo watched Naroo walk around slowly, allowing himself to get comfortable walking again Karin walked in. "Hey guys, are you hungry?" Karin asked.

"Heck yeah!" I exclaimed, as my belly grumbled. I rubbed his belly in embarrassment, a small tint of pink upon my five whiskers claiming my cheeks.

"Well then, here!" Karin exclaimed back as she shoved a list full of groceries to buy. "You can buy them and I'll make them for you, bye." She said, throwing money towards Juugo who caught the stack of cash.

"Suigetsu, you're going to!" Juugo and Naroo heard Karin yell from a distance.

"Alright, I'm ready!" Naroo said, as he got up and pumped his fist one time in the air while Juugo laughed.

"You might want to put some pants first." Juugo laughed as he pointed at Naroo who was only in Juugo's boxers. "Here." Juugo said as he got up and threw a V-neck at Naroo, who thankfully caught it with his slim fingers. 

I watched Juugo as he watched me back and blushed softly. I slid the shirt on as my head popped through the collar. The shirt was big, yet it felt nice. It flowed past Naroo's knees, hiding the helm of the boxer. 

"I don't have any pants that will fit you, so that will just have to do." Juugo said softly, admiring his fox." The village we are going to isn't that far from here so we can just go like this, nobody will notice." Juugo said slipping on his faded orange cloak.

They exited Sasuke's hideout and walked through the forest enjoying the sounds of nature. Juugo whistled with the wind a few birds flew on his shoulders. Suigetsu was a few paces ahead, he wanted to get the items as fast as he could and go back to training.
