Mark's POV:

"You're such an idiot!", he said laughing and pushed me away gently. I smiled, "I love you too.", and ran one hand trough his hazelnut-brown hair. ( I'm not a painter, so maybe it's another brown tone ^^) I made one small step to the side, placed my hands on his shoulders. And a second. "Please Jack." A third step. He gulped heavily and nodded. I let off of him. "What are you guys doing th-" I cut her off. "Just let Jack finish his thing." Jack, who looked to the ground desperately and worried, mumbled a "Thank you.", before he began to sneak in the direction of my mom.

"H-He-Hello Ma-Marks mom..." He reached out for a handshake, still looking to the ground. She reached out for Jack's hand and in the moment their hands touched, Jack screamed so loudly and unexpected, that I just tried to pull him into another hug. "I-I'm sorry,", he started crying, "I didn't mean to scare you." His tears fell to the ground. My mom looked worried. "Have I done anything wrong?", she asked. I shook my head. "You haven't done anything wrong." I gave Jack a short but sweet kiss. "Could you go to the bedroom for a few minutes? I want to explain my mom the whole situaton."

"Go to wh-", he stopped, just nodded shyly and went to the bedroom. I exhaled eased. "Wanna take a seat?", I said, pointing to the couch. "Sure." We sat down, when she began: "Why is all this happening? Please explain."
"So...", I exhaled slowly, "Jack's mom was a good friend and died a week ago in a car accident. My current flat was too expensive, so I visited Jack." My mom just nodded. "But why is he afraid of me?" "It's not easy to explain, so please don't freak out: Jack has a mental problem..." "Why does nobody sends him to a mental hospital?" "Mom!" "What?" Short pause.

"He's afraid of people. And if I hadn't come, he would have starved, because he can't go outside." "He lived here his entire life?", she sounded really shocked. "No. Just since he was seven..." "Mark! That's a long time!" I nodded. "But wait: Why isn't he afraid of you?" "I hugged him, while he was choking me. His mom usally hugged hi-" "He. Wait what?" "He choked me." "Why the hell did he choke you?" "Uuhhmm, he was trying to strangle me." "He tried to strangle you?" "Yes? I told you so." "Nobody-", she stood up but I grabbed her wrists. "He was in panic!" She stopped and then shouted, "Nobody tries to strangle my child! Do you hear me?", in Jack's direction. "Mom! Please!" A quiet "Sorry." came from the bedroom.

"Jackaboy!" "Yes?" I heard a few steps, then saw him looking around the corner. "Come over here!" I pointed next to me. He slowly came nearer and looked at my mom with mistrust in his eyes. He took a seat and flung his arms around me. "This couldn't be the question you wanted to talk about, could it?", my mom asked Jack. "No. I wanted to ask...if...I...if I... if I am a bad person because I'm gay." My mom was surprised. "No! You're wonderful! You two are wonderful! It doesn't matter what sex (is it the exact same thing as gender? >~<) you prefer. You do it the way you like. And you prefer Mark." He blushed in a bright pink. "See? Everything is fine." "Don't even try to hurt my son. Mommaplier will rip you into tiny pieces.", my mom said with a wink and reached out for a handshake, the second time this day. Jack held off a few seconds, but then shaked Mommaplier's hands without a scream or something like that. (But still a little bit mistrust in his eyes.)

I hugged him a few seconds, when I realized, that my mom was about to go. "Mom?" "I'll leave you two lovebirds alone.", she said with a wink and opened the front door. "Wait!", Jack said, "Are the people out there mean and dangerous?" She shook her head. "A few are, but my Mark will protect you! You would be safe." She waved to both of us and closed the door behind her.

"You will protect me?" "Of course I'll do Jackaboy!" I kissed his cheek. "The world is not so unfair and cruel like you think." He smiled. "And now?" "Now?" "What are we doing next?" He was right. What were we going to do next? "Movie time?", I asked. "But I choose the movie!" "Ok. But please a romantic movie." "Nope!" "Yes!", I said contrived indignant.
"Nope. Scream." "What? Why? You are afraid of people! Why did you pick a horror movie?" "First of all: it's just a movie. Second of all: I can hide behind you if it's too
scary." "Really?" "Just start the movie!", he said laughing and hid behind me.
