Chapter 1 - The Mission

Normal P.O.V:

"Mommy look! The flower I saw in the picture book you read to me." The small golden yellow haired child showed her mother excitedly in the large garden outside the little girls home. The golden haired little girl was kneeling on the grass in her frilly sundress in her bare feet.

"It is, my it's more beautiful in person." The golden haired mother said to her excited daughter. The mother smiled dearly at her beloved little girl and asked, "Do you remember what that flower does for you?"

The little girl turned back to the orange flower with a deliberating expression. She thought for a moment and then it hit her. "If you apply it to your skin it will help with burns, swelling and poorly healing cuts, and if it's ingest..." The girl twirled with her golden lock while thinking, "it will help with muscle spasms, lowering fevers, and that menstrual thing you said I didn't need to know yet." She looked at her mother with a smile.

Her mother knelt down next to her baby girl on her shear turquoises dress and smiled endearingly at her golden chocolate eyed daughter. "Very good Lucy" She ruffled Lucy's golden locks and pulled her onto her lap. Lucy giggled happily as her mother did so.

"I love you mommy." Lucy said as she snuggled up to her mother with a large grin on her face.

"I love you more." Her mother said to her as she embraced her child in a loving hug.

"I love you most." Lucy finished, clinging to her mothers warmth that emitted from her heart and soul. Her eyelids becoming droopy as she cuddled with her mother in the warm patch of sun in their beautiful garden filled with happy flowers.

"You can win today, you've been studying like crazy," She gentle brushed Lucy's long flowing hair out of her face. Layla picked her up in her strong yet gentle arms, cradling her to her bedroom in their glass palace. She looked at her child's sleeping face and sighed, "My darling, I wish you do not have to share this fate. however soon we must go our separate ways." She brushed her face against Lucy's rosy cheeks, "but I'll keep fighting for a way to make you a happy future. I promise."

Lucy's tiny warm hand was suddenly at Layla's face, "Don't cry mommy, it will be okay." She comforted her mother while she was in and out of sleep. Layla's soft checks glistened with freshly fallen tears that dampened her daughters hand.

"My sweet baby girl, why does someone as delicate and kindhearted as you have to endure such a miserable fate." Layla cupped her daughters hand on her face and sat down on the stairs and began sobbing quietly over her sleeping child.

"Lushheee!!! Wake up we've got another adventure waiting for us." an annoying voice pleaded with the sleeping girl on the bar chair who was resting her head on the bars top.

Lucy grumbled in her sleep, "Don't cry mommy."

The blue cat was nervous at this statement, knowing about Lucy's mothers death from the letters he secretly read while Natsu and Lucy were asleep in the same bed.

"Oii~ Natsu" Happy the blue cat said loud enough for the dragon slayer to hear, but not loud enough to wake up Lucy.

"Yo Happy! You wake up Lucy yet?" He said as he was eating a piece on cold meat that was left out from last nights celebration, which left most of the guild members sleeping here, including Lucy.
