So yeah, basically this chapter is a how-to guide to throw/organize parties
I've recently just 'recovered' from one so I might as well share some experience and stuff about it ^^
Attention : This is all based on my experiences and point of view. They might not work for you but the guide below is basically how I run them
//THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW/PREPARE BEFORE ORGANIZING A PARTY//
1. Consider the amount of people coming to your party
People are always the life of the party right? They say the more the merrier, but in reality you'll be so busy entertaining or helping them that you barely have enough time to enjoy the party. If you are inviting 20 or more people, you'll definitely need some helpers. This is also suggested if you're holding your party elsewhere than your house
2. Where will the party take place?
Your house? Beside the pool or some restaurant? Please do keep in mind that the theme of your party should go along with the location. You don't want to have a party themed 'formal' when the location is beside the pool right? Unless the guest are all wearing bikini's under their dresses.. well
3. FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD
Party is fun, and party is also food. Where will you get those scrumptious dishes that always appear in parties? Do you find a catering service or will you prepare the food? Usually catering services are the most common thing for parties, but adding a few of your dishes might spice up the party too ;)
4. Decoration
This might seen kinda common, but some people might forget all about the decoration because they had too much to worry about. Decorations will add some feels to your party and guests will be able to take nice pictures!
Set a backdrop(depends on your budget) decorative balloons and ornaments that go well with your theme. You could also prepare a table along with the backdrop so guests can take pictures with the cake/cupcakes
5. Entertainment
Guests need to be entertained during the party! Play some music, get the party into the right mood rather than a silent party where everyone is looking at their phones. I actually suck at this point because I had two groups of friends to take care of, resulting in one group being forgotten(it sucks) if possible, just invite one group of friends so it'll be easier to deal with them rather than running around the party and bruising your legs :)
Also, if you have parents helping you. They'll probably fend off the relatives and random guests while you take care of your friends. SO ALWAYS GET YOUR FAMILY OR SOME HELPERS TO HELP OUT WITH THE PARTY
//SOME THINGS THAT MIGHT GO WRONG//
The time has finally come to your party, yay! After hours of setting up you're done, and now you're all prepared to tend to the guest while they enjoy the party. Everything seems to go well and then you suddenly remember something..
Where is the food?
I know this is pretty weird but sometimes the catering services can be a little late. The part where everyone is here waiting to eat but the food's not here can be a little awkward. And thats when you'll need to make sure everything is done before designated time. You can also allow some time for the services to arrive by telling them to come earlier. Or you could check up on them a few hours before your party
What if the service forgot to prepare my order/ is stuck in a traffic jam?
The first part seems pretty funny right? Orders being forgotten. But actually I've experienced it during my aunt's party. The food wasn't here after the guests arrived so she walked to the restaurant and they forgot her order!
Its not nice to keep guests waiting. If possible, have some homemade dishes planned and served beforehand. Like your mom's famous lasagna or your dad scrumptious chicken pie. Sometimes, serving home-cooked dishes can be pretty fun too (if they're willing to make)
So in conclusion, always have a backup plan in case something goes wrong
What if the location of the party is unavailable due to some issues? Or what if something happens to me or my family and the party can not go on?
Suddenly the location person contacts you and say the location is unavailable because someone gave a higher price to book it, and only contacted you the day ON the party or before. If that happens, either change the location and NOTIFY your guests immediately! If you find another suitable location to hold the party
Try not to cancel the parties, because people look foward to it. I had a friend that canceled his party because his grandmother passed away before it. Always call your guests and make sure they get the message rather than sending a text, UNLESS they are always on their phone and stuff. You'll also need to notify the catering and other services that you've hired, and always be nice to them even though they'll yell through the line if they're pissed ...
We've reached the end for this chapter. Thanks for reading! Do leave a comment or a suggestion if you have something in mind~ and please vote if this chapter helped you out :) You could also suggest the ideas for the next chapter and I'll be happy to oblige
