Luna's POV

Anastasia sprinted past the boarder line of The Stained Sins Pack's territory.

Our heart racing as she slowed her pace, a trot at most.

She let me slip into the controls, she was too tired to continue on for any longer.

I told her to rest as I took control, still in wolf form.

I took a few steps to my right, sniffing the air.

I wanted to cry with relief, but also sob with loss.

I felt so happy to finally be free! Out on my own! You have no idea how good freedom feels!

But I'm so sad that in order to gain my freedom I had to loose my mate.

I felt something for him, whether or not it is love is beyond me.
My heart aches when he was away, and it raced when I even thought about him and all the good times we've had in the short time that I've known him.

But.... I don't know if you'd call that love.

I don't know if I would....
A snapping twig brought me back to reality, I turned my head, a small forest creature scavenged the bare ground for nuts before a fox sprinted towards it, catching it in its mouth and snapping it's neck with one whip of the fox's head.

A larger fox came up behind the smaller fox, the intimating glare he gave the runt was of power.

The large fox wanted the fresh kill.

This forest never changes.
Survival of the fittest is the rule that still stands.
The Forest Of Greed will always run that way.

I took off after seeing the larger Predator win.

I didn't know where exactly I was going..... But I was going somewhere! That's for sure!

I wondered around for what seemed like hours before I decided to visit an old friend.

He wasn't really my friend at all, he just owed me and now is a better time than ever to have him pay me back.

I was homeless, food less, clothes less, and moneyless!

Yay us! Anastasia said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

The man that I was going to see, Reed, was an alpha of The Dark Moon Pack, his daughter was kidnapped and I helped him out, his parting words to me were, "If you need anything, food, shelter, anything, you know where to look." That was 5 years ago, but I still intend to keep the man honest.

His pack was about 6 miles to the south.

I could make it there by sun rise if I hurried.

I took off at a sprint for about thirty minutes before steadying my pace to conserve my energy.

.
.
.

As soon as I entered the packs territory, howls and snarls erupted from a few yards away, a smirk played on my face.

I stood there, waiting for the pack members to find me, waiting for them to take me to Reed.

But I didn't have too long of a wait, a few minutes after I arrived, there was a small army of wolves surrounding me, snarling and snapping their jaws.

Then I saw him.
The other wolves cleared a path for their Alpha.

A stern frown covered his face.

"You know, old man Reed, that frown adds a few years." I joked.

Every wolf in the small army wore expressions of shock as they looked to their alpha to instruct them what to do next, attack me?
