A loud thunk followed by a slurred voice mumbling, "Fuck..." could be heard through the quiet house, it was sometime around 4 a.m though to be fair he wasn't really sure.

Soul had just stumbled through the door when Kid, who had finally gotten tired of watching him try and fit his key into the lock for 15 minutes, had unlocked it for him.

Soul had been out with Black*Star and Kid getting completely wasted, Kid had decided it was about time for them to go home when Black*Star had passed out.

Kid had dragged Black*Star into the backseat before ushering a very confused Soul into the front. The perks of having Kid around was having a designated driver, aka the designated shinigami.

Once Soul had made it out of the treacherous living room he stumbled down the hall, making a bee-line towards (what he hoped was) Maka's bedroom.

He pushed past the cracked door, staggering in and, after falling over her desk chair, crawling towards the bed in the middle of the room.

"Maakaaaaaa..." Soul could barely make out a silhouette sitting up in the bed.

Maka had woken up when he had knocked over the lamp in the living room, if Soul was trying to be sneaky he had failed miserably.

"Makaaaaaaaa," Soul drawled on, finally managing to climb into the bed with her.

There was a small click, then light, and Soul brought his hands up to shield his eyes. Stupid light.

"God Soul, how much did you drink??" Maka had move his hands away from his face, looking into his bloodshot eyes with a mix of concern and amusement. She hadn't seen him this wasted in a while.

"You okay? God you need some water and some sleep..." Maka mumbled, throwing her blanket off herself to get up.

"Nooooo Maka, Maka I gotta tell you something." His voice was serious though his words were slurred.

She rolled her eyes but stayed in bed, "What Soul."

He reached out for her shoulders, more to hold himself steady than to get her attention. "It's important, 's really important."

"Then tell me!" Maka figured it was something stupid, a drunk Soul was like dealing with a sober Patty, but worse.

"Maka, Maka shhhhh," Soul had reached his hand over, attempting twice to put his finger over her mouth before finally succeeding.

She glared but kept her mouth shut nonetheless. Stupid Soul.

He draped his arms over her shoulders, pulling her down beside him and onto the bed. Soul snuggled his face into her neck before mumbling out, "I love you Maka, I love you soooo much."

Maka blinked, why the fuck did he have to be drunk? It hurt, he probably had no idea what he was saying, and she wanted so badly to say it back. "Soul you're drunk, you have no idea what you're talking about."

"Nooooooo, Maka, makamaka, I love you. I just can't say it when I'm sober s'all." His face was still buried in her neck though his words were a bit clearer than the last.

"I'm only saying this because you're wasted and I know you'll forget in the morning. I love you too Soul." Even though Maka had felt like she said those words to a dumb puppy and not her weapon, her cheeks still flushed pink. She never thought she'd say that out loud.

"Yaaaaay!" And with that Soul cuddled up to her, arms wrapped tightly around her waist before he passed out.

Soul let out a long groan, arms immediately shooting up to block out the bright sunlight. Stupid sun.

He rolled over onto his stomach, covering his head with Makas pillow. Wait Maka, where was Maka?

He peeked out from under the pillow, just in time to see her walk through the door with a glass of water in one had and some Advil in the other.

"Drink."

Soul reluctantly sat up, swallowing the two small tablets that Maka had handed him before washing it down with the water.

"Hey Maka."

She sat down across from him on the bed before replying, "What Soul."

"I remembered." He had a small triumphant smirk on his face, obviously proud of himself for not forgetting something so important.

Maka's face flushed a brighter pink than last night, looking away from him as she pouted her lips. He wasn't suppose to remember that.

"Hey Maka."

She ignored him, not having the courage to face him out of pure embarrassment.

"Makaaaaaaaa," His voice drawled on in the same tone as last night and finally she she turned to face him.

"Wha-" But before she could finish the word she was cut off by Souls lips pressing against hers softly.

When he pulled away he had a big toothy grin on his face, clearly proud of himself for finally making a move.

Maka's face was beet red but instead of a pout she had a small smile spread across her lips. She pecked his cheek before whispering something into his ear.

"Soul, you should go brush your teeth."

And with that he fell back onto her bed letting out a long groan. That's so not cool.
