Chapter Four
I was really anxious when departure day came. I knew that he was in good hands but it still made me feel uneasy, knowing he was leaving the safety of the Village.
"So, he really has gone."
After we said our goodbyes I was aimlessly walking down the streets, trying to clear my mind and start training myself, but was stopped by I voice I hadn't spoken to in a while.
"Yes, he has," I answered.
"And you suppose it's fine, letting him out into the world when you know the danger of the Akatsuki," Uchiha Sasuke said, catching up with me.
I eyed him. "How much do you know?"
"Enough to know that my brother is gonna be the one hunting Naruto and you down."
It only took a few seconds for me to pull him into a dark alley where we were alone. "Hold on! They don't know I have the other half!"
"What?"
"That's right! And I'd appreciate it if we could keep it that way. Now, I already know Uchiha Itachi is assigned to capture Naruto."
"How could you possibly know that!? I didn't even know that!"
"Didn't you just say...?"
"Yeah, because my brother is in the Akatsuki! I just guessed. How do you know?"
"Know thy enemy," I growled and let go of the grip I used to pin him against the wall. "I still have a few trick up my sleeve and a few spies on my disposal."
It's time. The words rang through my head like they were just spoken. I glanced around and earned an annoyed "What?" from Sasuke.
"Nothing. Let's go get something to eat, I'm starving." And I pulled him to the nearest dango shop. Where we were immediately joined by Kiba who was prowling the streets for no reason.
"How've you guys been!" he said, throwing an arm around me.
"I'm too hungry for this," I said, removing it.
"Well look at here!" I was really surprised I did not smell the stench of the drunken man approaching our table. He was fat and sloppy and looked really annoyed by my being there. "If it isn't Orochimaru's little girl!" The stench of him was so awful, all three of us covered our noses. And so did the most part of the restaurant. "What, you ain't happy with how much you destroyed the village? You wanna go at it some more! See, I lost ma wife because of that!"
"That wasn't my fault," I said calmly, looking back to the menu. He yanked it out of my hand.
"You're in kahoots with da devil! No, you're the devil imself!"
Kiba already stood up but I pushed him down, instead standing up myself. But the drunk just kept on going. "Was wrong? You ain't gonna do nothing! They say you've gone a wee bit soft! You can't do nothing to me, little bitch! And you're company ain't much better! The crazy Uchiha mutt and that blondy who calls imself Okage-"
I couldn't exactly say I lost it, because I was completely aware of what I was doing. I punched the man so hard he flew through three buildings before he hit the wall and slumped down, unconscious. And my knuckles didn't even feal it.
"Remember that before anyone else says I've gone soft," I said to all the angry faces. But before I could leave, something suddenly tingled at my senses. Something that was obscured to me before because of the man's stench. But when I turned towards the sense, it was already gone. But I knew what it was and panic seized me. I had half my life to remember that sense and what it meant if I felt it in different situations. This situation meant only one thing. It's time.
