Karkat slowly walked down the road, having his head aimed at the ground. He saw the feet of hundreds walk pass him, all avoiding his suspicious attire. He turned onto Central Avenue, and walked into an alley. He saw 3 men and a shoe on top of a telephone wire. They held small bags of a crystal like substance and looked at Karkat, raising their eyebrows.

"Here to buy some kid?" The taller one said with a gruff voice.

"No." Karkat said curious.

"Then why are you here? You don't want to get yourself killed at such a young age, punk." Karkat's eyes widened, but luckily they couldn't see. He turned around, and ran. The men didn't follow, but he wanted to make sure. The wind pushed down his hood and he panicked more after seeing a bunch of people look at him in a tone that screamed "what the fuck?" He quickly put up his hood, holding the edges with his hands so the accident didn't happen again. He saw the cafe Dave and Dirk worked at, and knowing it was their lunch break, he rushed in.

"Dave? Dirk? You there?" Karkat asked, still having the door opened.

"Yes we're here welcome to Star- wait what?"

"Karkat?" Dirk said, next to his younger brother Dave.

"Y-Yes... I was tired of being coped up in there. I had to go out. I'm sorry..."

Dave hurriedly motioned you to the back room, and closed the door. He leaned against it, since there was no lock.

"I understand that you wanted to go out, but do you know how serious that is if someone saw you? No one saw you right?" Dave asked.

Karkat told them about his "adventure."

"They might think he's some cosplayer or something?" Dirk suggested, nervous.

"He also wore a hood, he might seem shady to others. Someone might've called the police when he was in the alley with those guys." At the very second, all three of them heard a knock on the door. Karkat's heartbeat picked up faster than light when he saw it was a tall woman wearing a police uniform. She had a nameplate on her shirt, naming her "snowman." She was with a few other men. One was extremely buff, and the other extremely tiny and not threatening.

"May we come inside, sirs?" She asked.

"N-No..." Dave said quickly. Dirk cringed and panicked quietly. Karkat backed away, his eyes trickling with fear.

"Sir, I think we have to. That man behind you has been running around suspiciously, and we think he's working with a drug dealer. He need to ask him questions." She growled. She grabbed a pair of cuffs, and told the brothers if they laid a hand on her they would get shot by an electric gun. Dave stood in front though, holding his arms in front. He seemed like he was going to pick up a fight no matter what. Dirk stood next to Karkat, holding a karate pose.

The buff man picked them both up, holding them like footballs. The boys squirmed, but the smaller man was patting their heads as if they were untrained dogs. Snowman cuffed Karkat, and lowered his hood. Dave and Dirk screamed "No!" While the woman was extremely confused.

"You some sort of cosplayer?" She asked.

"I-I don't know?" Karkat replied.

The woman put him into the car, and locked the doors so he couldn't escape. The two brothers were still being held by the man, screaming and crying. Karkat pushed his face against the window and started to sob. He was going to get caught. 'How though?' He conflicted with himself. They thought he was a cosplayer.. It might be fine after all..

The car sped down the street, dodging traffic. Karkat looked out the window and saw the cafe come out of view. He turned and saw the woman still driving, focusing hard on the road. She was a tall mixed race woman, with curly black hair which was dyed white at the tips. She wore a brown NYP uniform, and many badges on her arm. Her gun was sitting on her lap, close enough to shoot Karkat if he would do anything stupid. He slumped into his chair when he saw the police office come into view. He was never this far from his home before. He still counted the hotel as his home, not Alternia.

The woman unlocked the door and pulled his arm inside. She sat him down in the chair and told him not to do anything funny. "I bet it would be funny to escape" he mumbled under his breath. She turned and glared at him.

"I bet it's funny for you to realize that I hear everything and I have a gun in my hand." She said, crossing her arms. She turned around and told the office boy why the kid was here and to pull up a report after they get his stupid grey makeup off and horns. 'That isn't going to work.' Karkat grumbled in his mind.

She led him back into the bathroom and chained him to a pole.

"Is this necessary?" Karkat asked.

"Yes. And don't flinch when I scrub hard. Your idiotic closplay seems to have some strong makeup." She scrubbed hard but none came off. She gave up after a while and led him to a back room. It had a woman sitting at her desk.

"Ms.Paint. I want you to take a sample of this punk's blood. We want to test if there's drugs in his system." Karkat panicked. If they saw his strange DNA, what were they going to do? Send him to a hospital? The woman started to clean a certain part of his arm and Karkat covered his eyes. She put the needle in his arm and started to drain out his blood. After she got the needle full, she turned to Snowman.

"This isn't right, Snow. Look! This isn't normal blood! I've never seen it before, it's a lot lighter in color."

"Pssh. That's impossible." She continued, basically not paying attention to Karkat's presence. "He ain't some sort of alien."

"I think he needs to go to a doctor quick... What if it's an unknown disease? That could explain his strange appearance..."
Ms. Paint trailed off.

"Thanks." Karkat growled at her. She looked a little hurt and sighed. Snowman sighed and led him back to the car.

"Thanks for being such a dick. If you weren't so 'special' I wouldn't have to do extra paperwork." Karkat looked at the ground angrily. 'Great.' He thought.
