My name is Sydney the last name doesn't matter, nothing matters nothing ,
except for survival, everything we do everyday is too survive.
We live in an ice covered land for a soiled 9 months of the year and the other 3 are similar to what I remember fall to be like.
Everything is different now there's no school or Netflix but most importantly no family, at least biological family.
"Sydney" Aaron speaks tapping me on the shoulder and getting me out of my trance
" huh"?
"Time to go" he says
We're headed to Virginia there supposed to be a refugee camp said to be safe, I hope it is we have been out here too long! And when people are out here too long they start going mad.
"Hey guys wait up"yells Amy from behind. I roll my eyes even though I know no one sees me.
Amy, not one of my favourite people in the world, everyone loves Amy she is like a queen bee it's hard to believe that the state of what the world is like today there's still a popularity rank.
We walk on
Amy chattering the whole way too Aaron.
I zoom out lost in thought
Until~ Aaron shushes Amy which is very weird,
She keeps talking
" Amy shush" Aaron barks
She stops a hurt look on her face typical Amy.
I lean over to Aaron " what is it"? I ask
"Look he says pointing beyond the patch of trees where hiding behind.
" the deceased" ?
Amy barks shivering behind me
"Yes Amy" "don't worry though"
" what are we going to do"? I ask.
"It looked like there's a small path over there we might be able to slip by unnoticed , If were quit" Aaron warns
"Let's go" I start leading the way trying not to look at the deceased but even from a far distance I can still smell the rotting of flesh.
I try not to gag
We creep slowly past them and I finally breath after what seems like minutes
" did we make it" Amy asks impatiently
Aaron puts a finger to his lips reassuring her to be quiet.
"Okay I think we're in the clear" says Amy again
I have finally had it " shut up Amy " in a regular voice I hear the distinctive running of feet in the distance and the familiar moans.....
Crap I think
" run" Aaron yells.
And we do
We keep running, until Amy collapses on the ground from exhaustion, "Amy get up" yells Aaron " we need to keep moving find somewhere safe to his for the night"
" I can't Aaron"
She spits out "too tired"
You can still hear the moans growing louder and louder.
"We got to go" I scream
Aaron heaves Amy up by her feet And throws her over his shoulder
"Come on" he says to me
We keep running for what seems like forever when finally we stop I am covered with sweat and extremely thirsty as well as hungry.
Aaron sets down Amy "let's find somewhere to hid for the night"
We search around and can't find anything the Amy speaks up " hey I found a cave"
It's small but it will do for the night we are all exhausted and give in too eating the packaged food and water that's in our packs for emergencies instead of scavenging some stuff.
We all seethe in for a restless night and Aaron says to me " I will take first watch"
I nod okay and try to get some sleep after laying there for a while with no luck if falling asleep, I get up and go over to Aaron and sit beside him at the entrance of the cave.
" you should get some sleep" he says
" I can't"
" I know your mad at Amy"
" you don't blame me do you" I ask
" she is not doing it on purpose you know"
" I don't care , she almost got us killed today" I say
" but we're still here"
"Barely"
"And some day we won't"
" she is like a deceased or a RAY"
I protest
" that's not fair, it's not even funny" days Aaron a serious look on his face.
" I know I am sorry it's just I can't stand her"!
"How can you "? I ask
" I stand you can't I"?
" haha" is say
" well if you not getting any sleep then I will"
He says getting up,
" and give Amy a break okay she has been through a lot"
" we all have" I say
" yeah I know, don't worry I know"
And with that he gets up and starts to go lay down to sleep.
Another day gone bye....
