The wings we lack~

Safe for a day~ part 1

I woke up the next day, everyone was still asleep and I decided to have a quick cold bath in the near bye stream.
Heading down a low path is saw a near bye stream I hoop in the icy cold water It was really cold but the cold water refreshed me then I dip my clothes into the water and started a small fire to dry my hair and clothes I was feeling much better than the day before, after half an hour I slip on my clothes they are still a little damp but they would soon air dry.  I headed back to the cave... Everyone was up now Aaron had started a fire in the middle of the cave and Amy was boiling a can of water over the fire.
"I gonna go look for some food..." I said
" don't be too long" Aaron warned
" I won't "
I headed out looking for anything that we could possibly eat , no luck except for some cashews under a tree I picked up in store them in my head and head back towards camp " I could only find cashews" I tell them
" better than nothing" Aaron says poping one into my mouth a smile spreading across his face I put them in the bowl of water boiling on the fire. " so are we going to get going"? I ask
" I don't know maybe we should stick around here for a while there's plenty of fresh water, food"he says eating another cashew " and this cave is pretty secure" Aaron says
" well what about Virginia"? I ask
" Virginia can wait we don't need to leave for Virginia right away it's not going anywhere"?
" but it will be safe there" I protest
"It's safe here"! Says Amy
I glare at her,
" were staying here Sydney" Aaron says
I walk away I spend the rest of the day in the woods searching for food or anything useful, I find some berries a blanket and a sweater, the lights are dim so I start to head back...it's dark when I get back to the cave Aaron is standing outside of the cave " where were you"?
He asks
" relax " I say
" I am not going to relax we haven't seen you since morning you could have been killed by the Rays"
"Look I am sorry okay"
" just don't go wandering around by yourself okay"
He says holding my shoulders I nod.
" come on get something to eat and warm up"
We go inside and Aaron covers the hole of the cave with a large rock.
I sit down at the fire and start warming my hands.
Aaron passes me the some meat and then a cup of hot water and a blanket.
" thanks"
Amy is asleep by the fire
" what you thinking about"? Aaron asks
" nothing"
" come on we're basically like family"
"Yeah I guess so" I say
"I was just thinking how did you find Amy"
"You never really told me "?
" does it matter"? he asks
" everything maters"
"I will tell you about it someday"
" you better keep that promise" I say
" I will"
And I slowly drift asleep.
