Chapter 20 - Mad About Me

Jam and Ty were rocking out in Guitar Hero while Poppy watched the two brothers go against each other. She was taking a short break from the arcade games, watching her cousins in delight. Only now they were one cousin short.

"Where did Ava go again?" She asked.

"She said she had to go to the bathroom." Jam answered.

"How long ago was that?" Poppy questioned.

"Um... Hold up!" The two brothers finished the song they were currently playing, allowing the eldest cousin to pull out his phone and check the time. "15 minutes ago."

"That long?" Poppy raised a brow.

"I guess." He shrugged.

"What's the big deal? She just went to the bathroom." said Ty.

"I know Ava. She never takes this long in the bathroom, especially when it comes to video games." Poppy stated.

"She's probably too chicken to come back in here, realizing that I would be her high score. Which I totally did." Jam boasted.

"I don't know, this is getting weird. Haven't you guys notice that she's been going to the bathroom a lot during this trip?" Poppy recalled.

"What about Ava?" Vince spoke up, joining the group as he licked a popsicle.

"Poppy's talking about how Ava sometimes goes off to the bathroom all the time." Jam elaborated.

"Ah huh." The youngest nodded, taking a bite out of his treat.

"Wait, where did you get that?" Jam asked him. 

"Grandma bought one for me back at the cafeteria." He answered.

"Welp, I'm out." Jam proclaimed as he placed the guitar down, making his way towards the exit.

"Wait, what about our talk?" Poppy called out to him.

"I'd rather eat mountain loads of sweets than hear about bathroom problems." Jam replied. "Peace!"

The rest of the cousins watched Jam leave as Poppy sighed loudly. She shook her head at the sight before turning her attention back to the two remaining cousins who stayed behind, adjusting her glasses as she did so. "Anyways, hear me out?"

"Sure." Ty shrugged. "We've got nothing better to do."

Poppy gave the boy a look as she placed her hands on her hips in reply.

"What? It's still raining out, we can't go to Hollywood Studios yet if it's still raining." He explained. 

"Just bare with me, okay?" Poppy pleaded. "Ava has been making numerous trips to the bathroom, as she would tell us. But it's just so unlike her. She's never done something like this before, especially here."

"Oh no..." Vince muttered.

"What?" Poppy spoke, she and Ty glancing over at the younger cousin.

"I think I know what's going on with Ava." Vince replied.

"You do?" Poppy asked with surprise.

"Well then, spill!" Ty ordered.

"... I think it's her time of the month." Vince answered.

There was a brief moment of silence, and Poppy swore she could have saw Ty's eye twitch a little bit. He threw his hands in the air, slowly turning around as he made his way towards the door. "I'm getting a popsicle."

Ignoring Ty, Poppy turned her attention back to the youngest cousin. "You seriously think that's it? How do you even know about this kind of thing?"
