I fell asleep at Phil's that night.
We didn't do anything like, yanno, like that.
But when it came to the morning I had no idea what the hell I was supposed to do.
I woke up way before Phil and lay there in silence for about two hours, not moving out of sheer awkwardness.
Phil made this little noise when he slept. I wouldn't call it a snore, it was more like a purr. Kind of soothing really, it made me not really want to move.
At 10:47 am the purring stopped and I felt him shifting around the bed.
I pretended to be asleep.
I honestly had no idea what he was going to do- he was so unpredictable.
I wouldn't have been surprised if he'd looked at me like vermin and told me to get out of his house.
I was kind of nervous to see his reaction if I'm perfectly honest.
There was silence for about a minute although it felt like an hour.
Then, I felt warmth.
Around me.
Muscly arms took hold of my torso and cigarette smoke took hold of my nostrils.
I smiled to myself.
I snuggled back into him.
"Good morning." I said, linking my fingers with him.
"This is weird." He mumbled. I loosened my grip. "But it doesn't feel weird."
"I get that." I said. I bit my lip. "Do you regret it?" He was silent for a while, pondering the question. It made me quite uneasy.
"You wanna get some breakfast?" He asked. I sighed. I knew he regretted it. I knew it weirded him out. I removed his arms from me and got out of the small sofa bed without realising I was just in my underwear. I quickly rushed over to put on my clothes, feeling Phil's eyes glued on me.
"It's too late for breakfast, Phil." I said, sighing.
"Okay then. Lunch?" He asked again.
"Too early." I insisted, pulling on my tshirt.
"Fineeee. Brunch?"
"Look, I should probably get going b-"
"What? Seriously? You're literally just gonna use me like that?" He asked, so seriously. I couldn't help but laugh a little bit. "What the fu-"
"Sorry, sorry! It just sounds like something I would say but it's coming out of your mouth." He laughed a little as well.
"You've obviously changed me." I smiled.
"Brunch sounds great."

We ended up in this crappy little café because, well, it was cheap.
It was nice though as we were basically the only ones in there apart from this crazy old man and this formal looking family, obviously just finished their morning church session.
We both got a full English- mine without beans and his without mushrooms.
"So, as I was saying- do you regret it?" I asked and he sniffed.
"Honestly? No. I don't. I keep thinking this should be weird but, like, it's really not? You know?" He said. I smiled at him.
"Yeah. I know."
"But, one thing. Can we keep it.. a secret?" He mumbled. Was he ashamed of me? I couldn't be arsed to think of that now and ruin this moment where we were both happy just being together.
"Sure. No one has to know." He smiled a really sincere smile and took my hand over the table. It was warm and slightly clammy but so comforting.
Our food was laid out infront of us and we started to eat, just having general chit-chat until, out of nowhere, a 5ftsomething man came over to our table. He was very smartly dressed in a crisp white shirt and pale blue trousers. I assumed he was part of the church family and smiled at him.
He did not smile back.
"Excuse ME, do you think you could take these disgusting shenanigans to some other place? We have two young children with us here and we do not want them to witness what you two... CREATURES are doing! It's unnatural!" He said, disgust filling his face and anger filing his voice. He stood there as if he actually expected us to apologise and move. I looked over to Phil, unsure of what to say but he was just staring at the man. I could tell by the way his pale skin went to a slightly darker shade of white that he was getting angry.
"Is that your family over there?" He asked. The man nodded. "Oh dear. I think we should go and apologise, don't you Dan?" I looked at him, outraged but he just winked at me.
It legit made butterflies in my stomach.
I knew he was up to something so I just went along with it, walking over to the table. I saw the man behind us nod with satisfaction.
We got to the table and the mother looked up at us as if we were a couple of rats in a sewer. The kids also looked up, faces stone cold but no sign of judgement like their mother. "Hello," Phil said. They remained silent. "Kids, I believe your parents want you to live a pure life full of non-sinful images and actions. Is that correct?" The kids didn't respond. They only looked about five, one girl and one boy.
"Well you know what you should do? Something that will be really, really beneficial to your present and future life? Tell them both to go FUCK THEMSELVES." I thought the mother was going to faint. Phil just laughed and pulled me into a kiss in front of the entire family. I shrugged and carried on with it- I didn't care. It felt too good to care.
The father was still stood by our table so Phil walked over and threw his entire plate of food over the mans head. I started laughing hysterically.
I couldn't believe what Phil was doing! The old me would have ran out of the café, embarrassed and blushing, but now all I wanted to do was laugh and kiss the man that was causing all this distress. We ran out of the door, hand in hand and 'forgetting' to pay. I'd probably go back there tomorrow to give them the money but it still gave me a bit of a rush.
"Now I get why you drive your car so fast!" I said, out of breath and running by his side. He laughed loudly and began to run faster.
I was surprised he had it in him after all those cigarettes.
Although, I supposed he was used to running because of d-
"What are you thinking about?" He asked, suddenly stopping, realising we'd got to my car.
"Er, nothing much. Just the weather. It's quite chilly."
"Well, it is Novemeber," he said. I shrugged. "You do that a lot."
"Do what?" I asked.
"Daydream."
"Do I?"
"Yeah."
"I don't even notice."
"I know you don't- but I do."
"Oh."
"Oh."
We got in the car.
We started driving.
"You know I'm not gay, right?" Phil asked.
"I know."
"Okay. Cool."
"Cool."-
