"Excuse me?"
I turned around to a tall, pretty girl smiling at me.
"Yeah?" I asked. Her smile wavered a bit at my tone but it sprung back into place almost instantly.
I didn't mean to sound rude, I was just confused why she'd just randomly approached me in the street.
"My names Tildy." She said, sticking out her hand. I shook it and said,
"I'm Dan."
"Dan! Dan. Can I ask you something?" I shrugged. "Have you ever modelled before?"
I laughed out loud. I think she thought I was being rude again and furrowed her perfectly shaped eyebrows. "What's so funny?"
"Sorry! Nothing, it's just, I can't imagine myself modelling. I'm just not model material." Her emerald eyes lit up.
"Oh, but you are!" She had very long, curly hair which was pinned up at the side in tight plaits. "You're the perfect height, you have good, long legs, pale skin. I guess you could do with a bit of toning up- oh just look at that jawline!" She lightly stroked along my jaw. She had very soft hands.
It felt nice.
"Um, thank you, but I don't thin-"
"Listen, you have to come down to the agency tomorrow, you're just what they're looking for! Please come!" She said excitedly. I bit my lip.
This seemed to make her even more excited.
"I don't know, I don't think that I'd b-"
"I'll be there! I model. It's my job. Plus, if you get it too, you'll get payed a hell of a lot." She said. I raised an eyebrow. She smirked back.
It was a friendly, sweet smirk.
I hadn't seen one of them in a while.
"How much?" I asked.
"£850 a shoot." My eyes opened wide in surprise.
She just giggled, rearranging her fur coat over her skinny structure.
"Um, I guess I could make an appearance. I mean, if you're sure they'd like me..."
"Dan, babes, they'll adore you!" She said. I smiled, blushing slightly.
"Okay then."
"Yay!" She said happily, smiling even wider than I thought possible. "Anyway, it's bloody freezing- do you want to get a coffee?"
I was surprised by this sudden offer.
I couldn't of known this girl for more than three minutes.
She was so nice though and she kept battering her long eyelashes at me so I couldn't say no.

We sat in a window seat at Starbucks.
I ordered a cappuccino.
She ordered a chai latte.
She took off her large coat to reveal a holographic, pink crop top and black jeans.
"So, Dan. Where you from?" She asked. I took a sip of coffee before I spoke.
"Just out of town in a boring red brick house. You?"
"I live on a farm believe it or not!" She said. I raised my eyebrows. "Yup. I wouldn't give up my farming life for anything in the world! Modelling can make it hard to fit in both but I still manage somehow! Sorry, you don't care about that- how old are you?" I gawked, trying to take in her fast, jumbled words.
"Er, I'm seventeen." She beamed.
"Aw, cute! I'm eighteen but only just eighteen, so we must be in the same year at school. Year thirteen, right?" I nodded. "We don't go to the same school I'm guessing?" I shook I my head. "Oh, that's a shame. I could have met you sooner then!"
I blushed.
She looked at me like I was a little puppy.
"Your eyes are so nice! I really want brown eyes but not like the ones that are like, shit coloured, like hazel coloured, you know, like yours!" I smiled at her.
"Thanks. You have lovely eyes though." I said.
She blushed this time, covering her face with her long, brunette locks.
She suddenly seemed to remember something and started fumbling around in her handbag.
She brought out a small card and put it on the table in front of me.Sunbeam Modelling

No: xxxxx-xxxxxx"This is the place you need to go tomorrow. You need to." She said, smiling at me whilst sipping her drink. I grabbed the card off the table and put it in my pocket.
"Cheers. So what ti-"
"You should get there by 11:30 but come at 11:20 and I'll meet you and show you where to go and stuff." She said cheerily.
"Oh okay. Thanks."
It deemed fitting that she worked for sunbeam.
She reminded me of one.
Bright and warm.
And always in your face.
I heard a beep and she got a huge phone out of her bag.
Looking closer I realised it was an iPhone six.
In rose gold.
I personally preferred the plain go-
"I'm sorry Dan, I have to go!" Wow, she even interrupted my thoughts.
She began putting her coat back on. "I'll deffo see you tomorrow though, yeah?"
I nodded and smiled.
"Cool, it was nice meeting you! Thanks for agreeing to have coffee with a complete stranger, haha!" I laughed lightly.
"My pleasure." I said.
She came over and gave me a light kiss on the cheek before strutting away in her chunky boots.
I could see why she was a model.
She was gorgeous.
I downed the remnants of my coffee and got up from my seat.
I looked out of the window and saw something I didn't want to see.
I quickly grabbed my jacket and walked outside, the cold air filling my lungs.
A gang of boys who looked a bit younger than me were stood in front of a tall man with black hair. One boy had a ten pound note in his hand.
"I wouldn't if I were you." I said. The boy looked at me confusedly. "This stuff is so good it's worth at least twenty quid for that bag alone." I gestured to the small bag of marijuana Phil had subtly clenched in his fist.
"Twenty? Nah mate." The boy said.
"Alright. Piss off then." I said. His mates looked at him angrily. He hesitated.
"Alright then." He mumbled, handing over two ten pound notes. They exchanged and were on their way.
I turned round to the man who was responsible for supplying drugs to kids.
"Phil, you've got to stop." I said irritably.
He sighed.
"You know I can't." He said, looking to the ground. He sniffed slightly. "You smell of coffee."
"Yeah, I just had one. But don't change the subject!"
"There's no subject to be discussed. Just leave it." He mumbled. I sighed.
"Okay. But we will sort it out soon." I said.
He rolled his eyes.
"Whatever. I've got to go." He grunted, beginning to walk off.
"Bye then." I said grumpily.
He didn't turn back.
I was now seeing the dark side of the moon once again.
And I hated it.
And I suddenly craved the warmth of sunbeams on this cold, autumn day.
I shook my head.
It was getting messed up.
