The Past Hurts

      "P-Please"I said with tears in my eyes.

    "C'mon Phoenix let's go home!Jack will be done with his chores soon and Carrie is making supper."I follow him happily my tail wagging.Then I stop sensing a dark,unpure essence from our home."Phoenix,C'mon.What's wrong girl ?"Connor asks me.I just stand there motionless."Hey don't make me carry you hom-"I watch as he walks over to our small farmhouse engulfed in the red flames."Oh no,Carrie.Jack why not m-"Then a red figure attacking him,I try to run,but the creature tackles me and I pass out.Next thing I now I'm on a shore,badly wounded.Blood and mud caked on my fur."A-Ah what happened?"I say to myself.When I try to stand up my legs are so limp and numb that any scabs on my legs reopen.I cringe at the pain and try to continue,but I notice my back leg is sprained."D*mnit.Just kill me now .Do.It."I yell at the sky as if I was wishing on a star.
     Days pass and eventually I can finally move around,but not very well.I plan to stay in the same spot,but my heart is telling me to look for my family.The days go on and all I have to eat is nuts,berries,and anything else that I can find.I've been here for about a week now hoping that someone will find me.As the days go by a small ship sails near the bank and towards me.I try to get its attention by barking and jumping up and down(ignoring the pain).The ship sails closer and it stops at me."Oh James look it's a wolf let's go take a look at it"a elderly,light voice answers."Okay my dear,let me pull the ship over" another elderly voice answers,but in a deeper tone.The ship pulls in and the two leave the ship.When I get I get a closer look the first voice belongs to a elderly woman.She has gray hair with brown streaks in,it is put up in a plump bun .Her green dress covers her body down to her knees.
    The second voice belongs to an elderly man,James.His hair is stubby and short,it looks like it his hair was red before it turned gray.I can't really describe what he's wearing,let's just say it was a white and gray color.There seemed to be other wolves on the ship,maybe three or four.
     "Oh James she's hurt and starving,we have to take her!"
"I don't know,we already have are hands full with Puma,Jiggy,and Cookie."
   "James!You can't just leave a wolf clinging to life abandoned on the beach with nothing to eat!"
   "Well you do make a good point...well let's take her."
  I watch them come over and try to befriend me,but I can't tell if their heart is pure or not.I try to keep my distance with them,until the elderly woman lays her wrinkled hand out.When she does I look and see crumbs of bread and small hunks of pork.I gladly take the food and chew on the wonderful flavors of something other than berries and nuts."Good girl,"she says calmly.She slips more food in her hand for me to eat,while petting me."C'mon let's go get you fixed up,"she says motioning towards the ship.My feet squish in the moist sand of the beach,as we're march toward the small ship.
     "Oh what's this?" the elderly lady says with a worried tone."Hm your collar says 'Phoenix',but it also says 'Calmarice Village' and that village is weeks away on foot,plus it was attacked about two and a half weeks ago."Then reality hits her."O-Oh my.I'm so sorry."she says bending down to hug me."You must've lost everything there..."I see the tears glisten in her eyes."L-Let's go..."she says.

"Well we better introduce ourselves,"the man speaks in a deep tone."My names is James and this is my wife May.""Hi Phoenix,"May says in a light and playful tone."and these are our other dogs we found.Cookie,Jiggy,and Puma."Hi there,"a friendly voice says."My name is Jiggy,"H-Hi Puma,"I say in a nervous voice hoping he won't think I'm worthless."This my sister Cookie and her boyfriend Puma." He says chuckling.I smile almost laughing at him.The first time in awhile.I think I might like it here.
   "Hey Puma is NOT my boyfriend,we're just regular friends,"Cookie snarls at Jiggy."Sorry about that,I just get worked up.As you've heard I'm Cookie,"she says instantly cheerful.

As we sail the sea the night comes over the world."May you can go to sleep if you want,"James says while at the ship's helm."Ok James,Good night,"she says kissing his forehead.When she slips into bed I hop up beside her and we drift off to sleep.At the early hours of the morning a frantic James busts into our room yelling that the ship is sinking."May you and the dogs make your way off the ship and onto land.I don't care how just get off,I'll try to save the ship.Go!"
      "But James we can-"
"Go!"
We look for anything we can use as a raft,but we can't find anything.The water quickly rises up to our knees,then our stomachs,and up to our chins."Guys come here,"May says in a quiet voice.When we get over to her she picks us up and puts us in a crate.The water is now rising up to her  shoulders and coming up quickly.She pushes out a hole and in the sea."Let destiny guide you through the this evil world.Let it keep you on the right path.I love you guys...so much ...goodbye," she says in her quiet voice that fades into the night.We all howl and frantically try to get to her,but the sea and a watery grave separate us.
       Tonight I wish that all the evil sh*t in this world could disappear.I would be with my family,and enjoy a wonderful life.Playing with Jack,hunting with Connor,and waiting for Carrie to drop some crumbs on the floor for me to eat,but instead I'm inside a crate,floating over a rough sea.I am the target of all things evil.

A.N. Just to clarify this is Phoenix's past.Her village was attacked by shadow Knights,she was stranded on a beach and was in a ship wreck.Such a great back story right?!(that was sarcasm)
