Chapter 25: Gashes, Gashes, Caves Fall Down (Part Three)

I open my eyes, coughing. I wrap one arm around my waist and look to Connor. More cuts and scratches were on his face and there was a medium sized rock on his stomach. He wheezed violently. I pulled my feet out form under the rocks painfully. I heard a few toes pop and snap like twigs, I let out a shirl cry and pushed the boulder off of him. I wiped the sweat from my forehead.

We didn't speak, we couldn't.

I gasped softly, panting. "It hurts..." I said but no noise came out.

My eyes widened as I listened for any sound.

Suddenly I heard rocks being dug into and loud yelling from girls, I listened to their voices carefully and looked to Connor. I nodded and we started to try and dig out of the rocks. "ALEXA?!" I heard Lucy scream.

Loud growling imited from behind them. I yelled, but no sound.

I heard them let out loud screams, bows firing and knifesm going through flesh. "No, No, No, N-" A large hand comes from the rocks and grabs me by the throat. I hear a scream, a boys scream, Connor's scream.

Tears form in my eyes, and I let out another soft no as my throat is tightly squeezed. I hear soft whispering in my ear, horrible breath with it. "Leeexxusss...." It breathes earily. "Do you know what we are...Lexussss...?" I shake my head, tears going down my cheeks. I see Persephone's prized flower out the corner of my eye. The down at Lucy and Gray whom had been stabing and shooting at the many beasts in the cave.

This was the end, I knew it was.

"We are your worst...nightmare..." I kick him in the chest as he squeezes my throat tighter. I let out one last phrase, the very last one to be heard from my voice. "Lucy...Gray...get the flower and save everyone..."

'Snap'

I fell to the floor with a thud, Lucy and Gray let out a horrific scream of anger.

I watched them attack the beast as the light slowly faded from my eyes.

And in that moment, I knew I was gone.
