Chapter 9

May's POV

I haven't seen Lily in a while, I know she went to the hospital.  I visited her, but she was still asleep.  I don't know why she wouldn't have been out yet.  I grabbed my phone and dialed her number. It rang two times then I heard her.

"May?" she said sounding tired. I looked at the clock and saw it was 6. whoops.

"i'm so sorry Lily i didn't know what time it was."

"Oh its alright what's up."

"Oh well I was just wondering if you were out of the hospital yet, I don't know why you were in there for so long." My voice shook.

"oh well, right about when I was suppose to get out, I had a seizure and they found a lung problem so i had to stay two more weeks."

"I-I'm sorry I've been so distant i-I've been having problems." I tried so hard not to cry.

"May, sweetie. I'm coming over. We can talk Okay? I'll be there in 3 minutes." she said.

"O-Okay," I said and hung up.  I buried my hands in my face.

I needed to talk to someone about this. I only had one person on my  mind. It was Lily, she was the best listener. She also gave out the best advice. Almost like she'd been in this situation. No, no she hasn't been in this situation.

I sat there thinking to my self and then I heard the door open. I quickly wiped away my tears and got up to greet her. I saw her and she looked so pretty. He belly had gotten so big since I last saw her. She ran up to me and hugged me tight. I had missed her so much.

"Okay May vent," She said as we sat down on the couch. I sighed.

"Well I haven't always thought the way most people do.  I think different, I feel different." I looked down. Lily nodded.

"May i see where you;re going, I understand that you maybe don't want to say it yet, but you need to do what you're heart tells you." Lily said sympathetically.

"but in the bible it is a sin to like you're same sex." I said and my eyes watered.

"Listen May, what I think about that is times where different then.  God wants you to love and to feel loved. If you feel loved with a woman then I'm pretty sure God won't shun you. Have you heard the saying 'Love is Love' That means no matter what you love it can be classified as love.  Heck, you could fall in love with a chicken and that would be love." Lily laughed.  She gave me a hug.

"So May, any special girl out there that you've got your eyes on." Lily wiggled her eyebrows. I laughed.I knew Lily would make me feel better. She talked to me as i was normal, even though i felt different. 

"well, I don't think anyone in  particular.  i have just seen pretty girls around so I'm on  the lookout." I said and scratched the back of my neck.

"trust me May, i'll be on the lookout too. OOOOHH maybe I could get you a blind date!" Lily clapped her hands together. I got up and gave her a big hug.

"thank you so much for excepting me," I said and smiled. She gave me a wink and looked at her watch.

"May, I'm so sorry, but i need to be getting home. I'm sorry we couldn't talk longer, but I'll call you and I'll be at school tomorrow. See you later" Lily waved and walked out.
