Lily's POV

I was going to show that woman that my baby and I were happy and healthy. my hopes went down when the doctor said two words..

"oh no."

my eyes widened and I looked Trevor. he looked confused, but scared at the same time.

"w-what do you mean oh no? is something wrong?" my voice shakes.

"Well mrs Davidson. I'm going to say this the best way I can. so
let's take it back to 6th grade science. you learned about cells right? well every cell has a nucleus and every nucleus contains 23 pairs of chromosomes half of them are inherited from our parents. and the other half come elsewhere."  I just nod surprised I actually understood this. I'm glad I payed attention in that class. Doctor minster sighed.

" so, something happens when a chromosome has a full or partial copy of chromosome 21."

I start to tear up. " and what that?" I whimper, Trevor now squeezing my hand. Doctor Minster uncomfortably moved around in his chair.

"um when trisomy 21, better know as.. uh... Down syndrome." He said and looked down.I was looking at your daughter and I have found some traces of it." he pointed to the screen. her eyes were shut but you could see the the slit where the eyes were placed on her face were slanted. and he pointed out a couple more placed but I couldn't focus. Nothing anyone said mattered anymore. I could hear anything lost in my own thoughts. I felt like I was was in a dream or waking up. everyone's voices were muffled and i felt like j was in slow motion.

I got up and walked out of te room, out of the hospital, out of the parking lot, before I was about to walk into the street when I felt a warm hand pull me in my shoulder. I flipped around and saw Trevor shaking my shoulders I laughed. I could faintly hear his voice.
"lil!! what's the matter with you?! LILY!" I heard him but I just laughed and yanked his hand away. I stepped down the curb I felt my self being picked up off the ground. I see Trevor I pout. I wanted to keep walking. I laughed and twirled my finger around  his hair. I looked forward with puffy bloodshot eyes. I laid my head back and closed my eyes.

Trevor's POV

I looked at Lily as she sat in the bed staring wide eyed at the screen. Doctor Minster explained to us what had happened. I squeezed Lily's hand but it felt limp. she stood up and walked out. she just needed some alone time and I respected that. u say there for a minute as Dr.minster talked some more and I just nodded my head acting like I cared. I saw the door open.

"um Doctor minster your patient Lily Davidson just walked outside is that alright she looked quite pale." I shot up from my seat and sprinted out the door.

she was almost getting ready to k walk into the street. I sprinted so fast and grabbed her shoulder before she could get to the curb.

what was wrong with her? she laughed. what the hell? he pushed my hand away and continued walking. I scooped her up and walked her to my car. she was in shock. she played with my hair and I  refused to look at her. she fell asleep with me holding her for no longer than 2 minutes. i placed her in the passenger seat and buckled her up she curled into a little ball. I walked around to my side and drive away. I dialed Dr. Minster and told him what had happened. he understood and I told him i would come back to get more information. I pulled into my house and carried her in.

"hey sweetie! I was jus making lunch how did the appointment go!" my mom yelled. I cringed. Lily stirred and I stroked her head. my mom walked into the mudroom and looked at me questionably. I sighed.
