Chapter 4

Tom's pov
I was walking home from an audition, and I had passed by the orphanage where the young girl I had helped lived. I soon as I saw it, I couldn't stop thinking about what it must be like living in conditions like that.
I have been thinking about adopting a child, but I'm not sure Maddie Grace would want me to be her father.
I check the time on my phone, it reads 3:45. So, she must be home from school by now. I walk into the shabby building, and look for someone I could speak to.
"Excuse me, is there someone here I could talk to about adopting a child?" I call out.
A woman come out of an office behind a desk, and says, "What do you want?"
"Is Madison Grace Snow here?"
"Not yet. What did she do this time?"
"Oh no. She didn't do anything. I was wanting to adopt her."
"When she gets home I'll tell her that you stopped by and we'll arrange a meeting."
"Ok. Thank you."

Maddie Grace's pov
"When do you think the school will realize that we ditched detention?" John asked.
"We'll most definitely will get in trouble tomorrow morning," I replied.
"We're going to be in so much trouble! What if we get expelled?!" Emma Paige said, completely freaking out.
"Just shut up! We are not going to get expelled!" I exclaim.
"Can we just go to dance?" asked Conner.
"Damn! I left my bag in my locker. I'm going to go back to the orphanage," I tell everyone.
"No, I'll go with you," Conner replies, rather quickly.
We start walking to the orphanage and we're talking about school and dance, and I run straight into a man. That's the second time this has happened within a day.
"I'm so sorry," he said. I've heard that voice.
"Tom?" I asked looking up at his face.
"Maddie Grace?" he replies.
Conner just stands there with a confused look on his face. He raises an eyebrow at me and I just nod. We speak through facial expressions a lot.
"I'm Conner. Conner Roberts," he finally says.
"Tom Hiddleston," Tom says back, "Where are you heading off to?"
"I have to get my stuff from the orphanage and then we're going back to the studio," I reply.
"Okay, well goodbye, Maddie Grace and Conner," he says.
"Bye," Conner and I say in unison.
We walk into the orphanage and Ms. Sander behind the desk.
"Hello, Mrs. Sander," I say to her.
"IT'S MS. SANDER!" she yells back.
"Oh... So you aren't married. You wouldn't want to spend the rest of their life with you," I reply sarcastically.
"SHUT UP, YOU LITTLE TWERP!" she snaps back.
"Whatever I'm just here to get.... something for a school project," I say, almost letting it slip that I still take dance. I was supposed to quit when I came here, but I never did. And thankfully the studio gives out scholarships, other wise Emma Paige and I would have to quit. Every time I forget my stuff I just say it's stuff for a project.
"Actually, I have to talk to you Madison Grace," she says. I hate when she says my name, she sounds like a snake when she says it.
"Conner, can you go get what we need? It should be on my bed." I say.
"Of course," he says while running up the stairs. I absolutely love him. He is the sweetest guy I know.
"What did you want to talk about?" I ask turning to Ms. Sander.
"A man came by and asked about adopting you. He will be coming Wednesday to pick you up."
"Are you serious? I can finally escape this hell? But... What about Emma Paige?"
"What about her?"
"I can't just leave her."
"You will just have to."
"She gonna crushed. We've been together since we were born."
"I don't care."
Conner comes running down the stairs holding a bag and asks, "Is this it?"
"Yeah. Let's go."
