(Hailey's P.O.V)
Hailey walked in to the bar, letting out a huff. There was a prostitute rubbing against one of the anglin brothers. She shook her head, walking toward the bar, her black vans pattering against the wood. She sat in to the slightly ripped leather booth, looking at West, the bartender. She'd gone to school with him, and after his father died he inherited the bar.
"Just get me 4 shots and a beer.." She mumbled. She wasn't planning on being sober tonight, she wanted the alcohol to completely consume her. She brought down the strong shot in one gulp, tears running down her eyes from despair, and even the burning from the strong brown alcohol that just went down her throat.
She drew the second shot, her hand shaking as she poured it in to her mouth and swallowed it. West looked at her concerned, but she ignored the gaze from him and the rest of the normals with beer bellies. It wasn't a surprise, especially since she'd never stepped foot in a bar, and it wasn't her intention to.
But at this moment, she felt like a wounded deer that had gotten hit by a truck trying to cross the street, then left to die. That metaphor resembled exactly how she felt. A wounded deer.
She drank the 3rd shot, letting that poison run down her throat. Her mouth was now burning too, and it felt like her throat was on fire. West tried to take the last shot from her but she swatted his hand away, scarfing it down to prove to him she could do it.
She was starting to get dizzy, but she moved to the beer. She felt her soberness start to Disappear as the alcohol entered her system. She took 3 drinks of the beer, before falling in to complete darkness.
(Ricky's P.O.V)
Driving home, Ricky saw Haileys father drive past quickly. His curiousness did start to nip in the back of his mind, but he ignored it. The car rumbled and made a booming sound like it needed work, him chucking at the sound.
He'd heard it growing up, how him and Hailey had sat on the porch, listening to his father string many curse words out of his mouth when it broke down in the driveway. They'd quietly laugh and pick on him when he got so angry he'd kick it and add dents in the side.
When his mom would ask he'd have some outrageous explanation like he ran in to a rock or some shit.
At that moment it made a hiss, breaking down maybe 200 feet away from the house. Ricky groaned.
"Stupid ass clunker." He mumbled. It was owned by his grandfather and his dad didn't have the heart to sell it. The car was basically un drivable at this point, so why still attempt. He walked over to the trunk, having to pry it open for the millionth time. He slammed it closed after loading himself up with groceries, starting to walk.
By the time he got home he was panting. He turned to put the key up in the bowl on the dresser by the door.
"Dad the car broke down again."
He looked up to see his parents looking at him concerned. He looked back and fourth, knowing something was up.
"Ricky honey, Hailey is in the hospital."
