Chapter 85. Seven Sins Hidden Within

Darkness surrounds me as I slowly open my eyes. Immediatly I felt a sharp pain on my shoulders, black blood had already seeped through my clothing. The first thing I notice is that I was chained to a large iron cross with carvings of unusual glyphs on them. Below me was a very complicated magic circle that was up to 18 meter in radius. There were pillars placed around the vicinity and it was night time where the moon shines past it's third quarter.

Mysterious man: I see you're awake Zephiel.

The man with long black hair walked towards me, he was dressed like a magician and had a purple branded mark on his right arm.

Zero: Greed..I should've known you were behind this.

Greed: It's an honor that you remember me after all these years Zephiel.

Just then, a woman with green hair ran towards me with a hug.

Green hair woman: (seductivly) Ufufufu..Zephy, my..I'm so glad to see you.

The green hair woman pressed her body against me and leaned her face in close towards mine. I simply turned away.

Zero: Lust..that's enough, I won't play your vile game.

Lust: Aww, how cute. Still playing hard to get I see, but I like it that way.

Just then the man with wild white hair and red eyes glared at Lust.

Scary man: (evily) Get away from Zephiel you wench. I'LL KILL YOU.

Lust: My...you're such a bore Wrath. Are you jealous? Ah, but that can't be right since you're not Envy.

Wrath: (lost temper) WHAT DID YOU SAY YOU WRETCHED WOMAN!!!

Wrath raised a gigantic sword over his head and swung it towards Lust. Lust swiftly jumps into the air and unsheathes her dual blades

Lust: Just like always, you're sure quick to lose your temper Wrath. Ufufu..that's not cute at all.

Before the two sinners began fighting, Greed raised his hand and drew two barrier lines to separate them.

Greed: Now is not a good time to fight you two. Zephiel's awakening is upon us. Our long lasting wish will soon be fulfilled. Soon, he who destroys will plunge this land into turmoil and turn all manners of wickedness into ashes.

Zephiel: No..you're wrong,  I won't destroy this world!

Greed: You may think that for now but once you revert to your true self..everything will become clear again. Now then, while Pride, Envy, and Gluttony is figuring out a way to pry open the golden gates, we have to carry out this ritual in order to accelerate the awakening.

Wrath: What about Sloth? He might come back and foil our plans again.

Greed: That's quite unlikely. I had to rush so I didn't have time to deal the final blow, but I'm pretty sure the demon hunters killed him off. Heh, to think he was still alive after all these years. I knew I should've killed him when I had the chance. But enough about that, take your position. We must not waste any time.

The three sinners each stood around the circle and let a drop of their blood drip onto the ground. Then, they began chanting the 7 sins over and over again. Immediately, the glyphs from the magic circle glowed red and pain shot through my body.

Zero: ARGHH!!!!

Greed, Lust, and Wrath: PRIDE...GREED...ENVY...SLOTH...LUST...WRATH...GLUTTONY...(repeating)
