Chapter 11. Kuon's Return

8 days till full moon

Back at Ysviel's castle, Faust reported all that has happen to the prince.

Ysviel: I see...(sigh) this is taking longer than I thought.

Faust: Forgive me

Ysviel: Well, I have been going easy on her sending just the six of you. Why don't I go all out now?

Ysviel flashes a evil smile

Ysviel: Faust! Take half of my army and scavenge all the villages near here, she should be nearby. Do not fail me this time because with eight hundred reapers, what could go wrong?

Faust: I shall carry out your orders without fail.

It has been two days since Yuri and Kai joined our quest. Kai seem to be accepting reality and Yuri is getting along with everyone. It's hard to believe we were just enemies a few days ago, it would've been better if Kuon was here. As we were getting close to the next village, we saw the villagers fleeing. I stopped one women and asked for the situation.

Zelphi: What's wrong? Why is everyone running away?

Women: Prince Ysviel's army is here!!! They suspected us for hiding a girl and scavenged our village!

Zelphi: Oh no!

Sloth: They must be looking for you.

Zelphi: We must stop them!

Soren: Wait! Charging in like that is no good.

Zelphi: Then what should we do?

Soren then smiles

Soren: Its time for me to do my job, after all, you asked me to join because I was a tactician. First things first, Sloth, go and scout the village. We must know our enemies before we take action.

While Sloth went to scout the village, the rest of us waited in the forest for his return. When Sloth came back, he relay all the information to Soren.

Sloth: From what I gathered, Faust is right now at the village chiefs house located at the east part of the village. There are between sixty to eighty reapers position on each block. The security in the village is tight. Not to mention they destroyed many houses with dead bodies piled on the road.

Zelphi: All that...just to find me.

Kai: He'll pay for killing those innocent villagers!

Yuri: Calm down Kai, so what should we do wind tactician.

Soren: From what Sloth told us, it seems Faust is behind this. If we were to defeat him, then the other reapers will have no choice but to retreat. After all, a army cannot function without its commander. We will follow the shortest path with less enemies to the chief's house. I will use my wind and act as a decoy to draw them away from there. Kai and Yuri will defend the perimeters and make sure no enemies get in. With all that set, Sloth and Zelphi will take down Faust. The odds are against us but we must buy enough time for them to kill the commander.

Everyone nodded in agreement and we took off. We decided to use the north route heading east. Once we were there, many reapers were in our field of vision. Soren blasted them with a strong wind and blew them into a different direction. Once we were getting near the house, Kai and Yuri guarded the vicinity from any reapers that Soren missed. Me and a Sloth ran up the steps and kicked open the door. The first thing we saw was the village chief laying in a pool of blood. He looked at us with weak eyes, thank goodness he was still alive. Faust who was holding his scythe finally turned towards us.

Faust: Ahh...so you came to find me. (Smiles) That saves me time finding you.

Sloth then drew out Silencer (his short sword) and sped towards Faust. As fast as Sloth was, Faust was able to counter his attack with his relic scythe. That surprised Sloth and he jumped back many paces. I am starting to realize why he is the leader of the six generals. As Faust was focused on attacking Sloth, I got behind him and swung my scythe. But he jumped into the air and got behind me.

Faust: It's not nice to attack someone from behind, not that I should talk.

His scythe emitted a purple aura that manifest the scythe into armor. He swung at me with great force. I blocked it but the tremendous strength knocked me backwards and I crashed through the walls. Before I got up, Faust pinned me down and swung his scythe. Then Sloth kicked Faust away from me and attacks consecutively. But Faust's power was too overwhelming and and landed a attack on Sloths right arm. Faust then swings again but Sloth was unable to raise his right arm to block him, so he dodge. It seems that the relic scythe is able to stop your limbs from functioning. If you were to be hit in the heart with this, then...

Unable to fight with his right arm, Sloth switches Silencer to his left hand. His stance was very awkward. As aura emits from his body, Sloth said"Whisper" his short sword glowed a dark color, then he disappear. He then appears in front of Faust and attacked him with blinding speed that even he couldn't see. Sloth's attack weren't strong because he wasn't using his dominate hand but he was still impressive. I'm amazed, it seems that his training has paid off. Just then Faust spins his body along with his scythe and the tip stabbed into Sloth's stomach. While gritting his teeth with extreme pain, Sloth fell to the ground.

Zelphi: Sloth!!!

This is bad, because of the relic scythes effect, the system in his stomach stopped working. If I don't help him, Sloth will... I quickly got up and charged towards Faust, I poured all my aura into my scythe and a solid black energy surrounds it. With all my strength, I attacked him. Crack! Another crack formed on my already cracked amulet. It doesn't seem like it can take much more damage or else it will really break.

Faust block my attack, but the force slowly drives him backwards. He then shifts the attack up and all the energy I fired burst through the roof. With no power left, my legs became weak and I collapse to the floor.

As Faust came towards me, he was breathing heavily. My last attack gave him a few scratches and there was blood smeared in his skin.

Faust: You put up a good fight princess, but in the end, it still wasn't good enough.

He put his scythe near my head, I have no strength to move.

Faust: Well, this is goodbye.

As I close my eyes, he swung down....why isn't it that I feel no pain? Am I dead already? I opened my eyes, standing in front of me was a familiar man with hair as dark as night. I couldn't believe who I saw.

Zelphi: K-Kuon? W-what are you doing here?

Kuon pushed Faust back and looked at me.

Kuon: It's not because I hate you, I finally realize that when I left. It was hard for me, you could've just told me, then again who am I to listen. After I left, I thought of you guys every day, I guess our time together was important that it changed me. I don't care if you are the reaper kings daughter, but let's defeat the reapers together.

I looked a Kuon with a shocked expression. Then I smile, it was my biggest smile yet.

Zelphi: Right!

Kuon smiled too then hardens his expression and turned towards Faust.

Kuon: Now let's finish this.

Kuon focused his aura into archenemy (name of his sword) , then his dark aura coated his right arm and put a black tattoo design all over it. The dark energy coated his sword and hardens to become twice as long and twice as sharp. Then Kuon attacked Faust, they exchanged blows.

Amazing, I can tell that Kuon has become stronger, he can even control his aura perfectly. Faust must be getting tired because his reaction is getting slower. Must be because we tired him out on our last fight, and he's injured as well. Kuon knocks Faust's scythe out of his hand. When he did, I squeezed every last ounce of my energy to get up and cut him down. Then I fell, before I fall to the floor, Kuon caught me and picked me up. I smiled as I stared at him with my red and blue eyes.
