Dear mom,
The days since you left have become more and more real. I wish you were still here with me today.
1 need someone to talk to more than anything as my teenage years blur past me. Love has never been something I thought about or even cared about. I knew it was there, but I never felt it as strongly as I have in the passing months. But no matter how deeply I fall in love, whether it's some guy, or THE guy, I want you to know that my love for them will never blossom as strongly as my love for you.
I know that a mother's love for her child is relentless and pure and that nothing will separate us. Not even death will do us part. Even though it hurts me like an open bullet wound to know that you will never see me walk down the isle. I know that my heart will always have a place for you, and that your heart, wherever it may be will have me in it forever.
I could write a million pages of these sappy words to you that this letter has consisted of. But all that really needs to be said is, I love you, mom and I always will.
Love, Mandy
The rain mixed with my tears that stormy september night. It was exactly a month since my mom died.
I took my folded letter and pushed it into the mud in front of her grave. My mom and dad had been divorced.
I hated my father. Whenever I told my mom that she scolded me saying hate was a strong word. I would walk to my room mumbling "not strong enough."
My dad didn't even seem to care that my mom had died. The only reason he gave it a second glance was because it would mean I had to stay with him.
I opened the door of my red mini cooper car. I climbed in and shut the door watching the rain fall all around me. I took off my bright yellow rain jacket. It was much too happy of a color right now.
On that note, I buckled my seatbelt and drove home.
