A Mermaid Tail
Chapter 10:

Enjoy~

-------------------------------------------------------------

The blue cat, now entirely known as Happy found a way for them to escape.

He kept blabbing on and on about how powerful they all must be; passing through the traps and defeating his master while keeping the Merineel Stone in their possession. All three of them couldn't just disagree...

Happy led them to places they never noticed, like cracks in the wall and removing stones to get to a staircase or empty hallway. Every area they went down was well lit, meaning Red Beard must've been around these areas in the past.

But, it didn't take them long at all to get back to the place they found the stone. They found themselves coming from the rocks of the cave at a random wall. They could see twilight at the end of the cave. Natsu, Lucy, and Wendy ran out of the cave. Happy shrugged and followed them out, acting just as excited.

Their ship remained in the water by the cave. The crew wasn't on deck, however. Natsu figured they were all asleep by now... The moon was high in the sky, it was almost pitch black, and beautiful stars were out.

Suddenly, the plan for the Merineel Stone flashed into Natsu's mind. He grasped his satchel, finding the stone still safe inside. He looked back to Lucy, who was walking behind him and talking to Wendy and Happy. On her neck was the final part of the stone.

Immedialty, guilt flew over him. Could he really kill her for the things he selfishly wanted...? Natsu couldn't stop thinking about it. He didn't want to kill her for too many reasons... This was supposed to be easy, he wasn't supposed to end up falling in love with her!

Natsu glared at the ground, then did his best to shake those thoughts out of his mind... For now. He had to focus on what was at hand.

"Where are we going?" Happy asked, flying over to Natsu in the lead.

"We're going back to my ship." Natsu replied.

"Okay, I didn't think you had your own ship! I was worried for a second about having you as my new Master..." Happy said, wiping his forehead as if he was sweating.

"I'm a great pirate, and don't call me Master." Natsu snapped.

Happy rolled his eyes. "Aye, sir..."

The three walked onto the ship, Happy flying behind Natsu. Their footsteps sounded louder than before in the quiet night. The waves rocked the ship softly as if trying to get it to sleep.

Suddenly, the four hear footsteps from another. It was coming from upstairs, and they were getting closer quickly.

"Natsu, Lucy, Wendy! You're all back!" Lisanna cried happily after running up the stairs to see them.

She ran over to Natsu and hugged him tightly, then noticed the blue cat behind him.

She let go of him, then asked what the deal was with the flying cat. All that was on her mind was if it was a threat... If a cat could be a threat.

"Lisanna, this is Happy. He's apart of this crew now." Natsu said. Lisanna still had a bit of a confused look on her face.

"I'll explain later..." Natsu said after studying her. He walked over to the side of the ship and began removing the anchor from under the shallow water.

"So, do you still have the stone...?" Lisanna asked, walking over to Natsu. He simply nodded, his mind thinking of Lucy again.

"When will we be getting... the other piece?"

"I don't know right now." Natsu said, pulling the anchor onto the ship deck. Lisanna nodded, then began walking downstairs.

"Goodnight, captain." She said, and disappeared to her room on the lower levels. Natsu nodded, fixing the anchor and chains into an organized pile.

"You all better get some sleep... I'm definetly talking to you, Wendy." Natsu said, walking back to everyone. Lucy remained with Wendy. The two were still talking about everything that had happened today that made their hearts race. Happy was flying around them in circles.

"Why especially me?" Wendy asked, after a small yawn. She tried her best to cover it up.

"Because, you've been up all day, and you need rest. You're an important, and young, member of this crew. It's late anyways." Natsu said, shrugging.

"Aye!" Happy agreed, coming to Natsu's side.

Wendy sighed and nodded, then began walking downstairs. "Come on, Lucy!" She called, waiting for her at the begining of the stairs.

"Goodnight, Natsu." Lucy said with a smile, and walked over to Wendy. The two then went down to the lower level to their separate bedrooms.

That left Natsu and Happy on deck. Natsu plained to sail out somewhere practically in the middle of nowhere. It might take him all night, but he had to get everything overwith... But, Happy interrupted his thoughts.

"She lllllllllikes you!" Happy said, smiling and covering his mouth.

"Shut up, cat. I hardly even know you and you're already like the annoying friend." Natsu said, walking over to the steering wheel.

"That's because we're already friends!" Happy argued.

The two kept arguing, hardly even seriously, all night. The ship had began to sail into the sea, to a place nobody would be familiar with. And a place nobody would ever go looking.
