"So Asher," Riley asked at school. "What's so good about being here? Why would mother want to live in California? I mean, I'm used to living here, but I don't get the big deal."
"Have you ever heard of Hollywood?" asked Asher.
Well of course Riley knew about Hollywood. Kay was in a TV show. Hollywood was the reason Kay was in that TV show. It was the reason Kay never had time for her.
"Yeah, I've heard of Hollywood. Why?"
"Well, Hollywood is right here in California. It's pretty far away from school though."
"Oh. Well I guess that's why we moved here. Kaydence is a part of Hollywood so I guess we just had to move closer."
"You seem sad again Riley. Why are you always so sad?"
"Kay used to play with me. And now she's busy. She only talks about Hollywood now. Mother only talks about Hollywood or Kay. Ms. Molly Manager and Mr. Fleur and Mr. Florence and Eric and Sir Mr. Ben only talk about Kay. Since we got here, nobody talks about school or playing or, me."
"Wait... Who is Sir Mr. Ben?"
"My father."
"That's what you call your daddy? I mean, your father?"
"Well, I guess. That's what he tells me to call him. I don't see him a lot because he's always in his office. But when he comes out that's what I call him."
"Isn't that a long name?"
"Yeah, I guess it kind of is..."
