Chapter Five

Zayn was sat in The Village Studios' Lounge, watching Harry as he talked to Herman Wright. Herman was one of Zayn's friends and a music producer too. Zayn was waiting for Niall, one of his important songwriters with whom he was finalising one of his upcoming single. "Very interesting indeed. Good one you got here, Zayn." Herman finally says with a pleasant smile as Zayn just nods at his direction. He heard a loud cackle pass through the studio as he knew Niall was probably in here by now.

Zayn got up from his chair and walked out of the room whilst winking at Harry who simply rolled his eyes and started to tell Herman about some of the guitar riffs. Harry has been glaring at him whenever he gets a chance. Zayn wishes he could have said that Harry had been looking at him, but no. Harry was literally glaring at him with all his might. With a small groan he walks over to Niall who was currently in Studio A' talking to Julia Andrew, one of his good friends and a music composer. She was always flirting with Niall who would flirt back, Zayn always thought there was this weird air between them whenever they talked in that 'other way' in front of others.

"Yes, I tried to get the sounds to fit. I used all the lyrics to put it up, then we have Zayn's vocalist to check it up. I think we can go for a demo now. What do you say, Zayn?" Julia asks as she finally looks at Zayn who was stood there awkwardly while glancing at the two of them. "I think it's a good time. Where's Jim?" Zayn asks. Jim was Zayn's vocalist, a 29-year-old man with a great sense of humour and 3 children.

"Somewhere." Julia mumbles. Jim was her cousin. "I mean, he said something about coming late today. I think he will be over here in an hour; we can still figure it out some way. Tell me about the guy you signed up for your new label."

"Oh, him." Zayn starts in a low voice. "He has been discussing a lot with Herman. He has some weird ideas and Herman already loves him. I think he will do good."

"Obviously, you signed him up so fast." Niall finally starts talking. "He must be something. I'm dying to hear his voice."

"I'm sure you are." Zayn said with a wink as Julia looked at Niall confused but he just shook his head at her and glared at Zayn.

"Okay. I get it. You should bring your works the next time." Herman said with a small smile as Harry nodded. He had told the man that he had been writing for a long time, ever since his family started falling apart (he didn't need to know that), ever since everything started falling apart, he would stay alone with his guitar and write it all down. Not that he was proud of them, sometimes after writing down a whole song in two hours the next day he would read it and throw it somewhere. Then he would regret it and fret about it till he's writing down another one.

He had written about fifteen songs from which he likes only three. But Cameron once read one of his when they had first walked into the flat and the paper was sticking out of his only bag. Cameron called him a genius and said he would go far unlike him. He still chuckles at that, he would just be there in the pub singing like a drunkard and having free drinks while chatting with Mark. That was what he thought until this discussion with Herman Wright who was a professional music producer; praising him for his ideas.

Maybe he's just being nice. It's the first thing that comes into Harry's mind when Herman said that his ideas were pretty 'solid and enchanting'. He doesn't even know what Herman meant by that. "You didn't look like someone who would like Psychedelic Rock," Herman had said when he blurted out his love for that type of music. Indie pop was one of his cores, and Herman had told him to work that out with Zayn since he knows a lot about Indie and his first album was pretty much based off on it. It did sell nicely. Good enough for a first album; selling 58,000 copies in his first week.
