-Avery's pov/
Welp, today's the day I go scavenging in the castle for food and what not. I grab my dark green dyed cloak and a small bag and jump out the door and into the grand forest we call home. I run throw the trees smoothly, my cape flowing behind me, and having almost the whole route muscle memorized helps in this case.
It doesnt take long for me to spot the outskirts of the kingdom. I make my way past the few houses that divide the city from the forest. Smoothly transitioning into the flow of people like a snake, I sneak small items off their carts and wallets out of pockets.
We really didnt have any use for money but the thought of it is nice.

Having finished with all the "looting" I guess you could call it, I was now weaving through the trees on my way home. On my way there I saw a small glint of light out of the corner of my eye.
Curiosity made me come to a sudden halt. Slowly creeping toward shinning object, I try to get a look at it. When I get close enough, I see that the object was... a knife? What would a knife be doing out in these barren woods? Wait... is that, blood? Ok, now I'm starting to freak!
My eyes widen ever so slightly as I pick up the knife and flip it, looking at the other side too. I clam my heart rate with a few deep breaths and look around on the ground for more clues of what exactly happened with this knife.
I see a trail of blood spots on the ground leading farther into the forest. I crouch and slowly follow the blood. It takes a few minutes for me to find something else in these barren woods. When I come up on a clearing, I see something. It was a person.
They were small, burnette, and looked like they were a zombie.
Once I got closer a noticed that the person was Lauren! "Lauren! What are you doing out here?" I asked running up to her. She turned to look at me with this dead eyed stare.
"Lauren?" I was getting really concerned now
She seemed to snap out of the frozen state she was in and pulled something out of her pocket. I didnt see this. She smiled at me, and thinking everything is alright now I smiled back. Her smile quickly turned into something demonic and I finally saw what she had pulled out.
She pulled out a match from the match box and lit it. I was about to reach out to stop whatever she was doing, but instead she through the match between us.
Everything slowed down as the match in the floor. Leave sparked and lit up with deadly flames. Knowing what this ment, I quickly turn and dash towards the tree house, not even considering the girl behind me that would most likely kill herself. I could hear the flames roar to life as they spread through the dry forest.
"KAYLYN! KAYLYN GET OUT THE HOUSE!" I screeched and continued running. Kaylyn's head poped out the doorway and I could see her eyes widen as she spotted the blazes chasing me.
She jumped down and immediately fell in step with me. I grab her hand and bolt, not caring about our home getting engulfed in flames, my first priority was Kaylyn at the moment.
Jumping over rocks and weaving through trees we try to outrun the flames. Because, you know, I'd rather not die today.
Kaylyn stumbles and falls with a loud thud. I quickly pivot and drag her to her feet. She winced and stumbled again. Not going to have any of it I pick her up and start to run again. Having more weight on me I could now feel the blazing heat grabbing at me and Kaylyn.
But then I was like "Oh no you didn't! Girl I will cut you if you hurt me bffl!" (Lol inside jokes that Kaylyn doesnt even know) putting even more speed on I start to run out f breath, and this smoke isn't helping in any way.
I look down at Kaylyn who was in a coughing fit. I give her my bandanna I had with me for her to wear and try to make it so the smoke doesnt get to her. I know it didnt work that well, but it did something.
I see the trees begin to part and I pray that we will finally be safe from the mad heat and that the flames will stop licking at my legs. We break the trees and end up in a pretty big clearing. At one end was us, and at the other was a small village.
Using the last of my strength, I run to the village, hoping that someone will help Kaylyn. As we get closer the little group of town guards seem to notice us and run up. Seeing the burns there first reaction was hostile, how rude. They surrond us and point their swords at us.
"Who are you and why are here?" One pocks at my shoulder. Gasping for breath I hold Kaylyn closer to me. "She needs help. We were in a forest fire and she's badly burned and I think her ankles sprained." I say, completely ignoring my own burns.
They lower their weapons as they finally see the damaged state we were in. They nod and one of them tries to take Kaylyn. I instinctively pull her closer to myself.
They get the idea and hurriedly lead us to what seems to be their hospital. All the villagers hear the ruckus and are looking out their windows and at us. One was dressed in full white and rushed to us.
"Oh my! What horrible state you are in! Come, come, let me help you dears." The lady said. She ushered us inside and set us on a bed. She comes back being followed by a man who had a bag of sharp things. (Cringes)

Me and Kaylyn ended up in some random guys house covered from head to toe in bandages. Yes, the guy's house we were in was nice, and so was he, but I can see the way everybody's looking at us. They dont trust us, not one bit.
They tense every time they see us. The guy actually confined us to the room we were in. Kaylyn was reading whatever book the guy gave us, finally calmed down. I was wraped around her waist, kinda like when you lay on someones lap, but behind them.
She coughed and I was suddenly alert. She chuckles as she feels me stiffen. She pats my head and I huff. I was getting bored so I stand and walk to the door. I dont even try to open the door, knowing it wouldnt work. I nust stand there staring at the door.
I start to make out voices from the other side after a few minutes.
"They cant stay! Didnt you se them! We should turn them in." I hear a voice say. "He has a point. We would be rich! Just think, all the food, power, women." Another says. "But they're hurt! They wouldnt stand a chance!" And yet there's another. "Thats why we do it now and not when they're healthy!" The first voice practically yells. "Shhhhh!" The other two shoosh him. "They'll hear you, you dimwit!" "Whatever." I hear the fading foot steps of the men as they depart. I scurry back to Kaylyn's side and grab her arm.
She turns to me with a questioning look.
"We have to get out of here. I dont trust anybody in this village." I whisper. "What are you talking about?" Kaylyn asks. "Im saying that these people are not to be trusted and we need to leave!" I whisper again. She knows not to question me anymore and just nods. I look around and spot a badly barricaded window.
I run over to it and pull on the wooden planks that are supposed to be preventing us for getting through. But they come off with one good tug.
After all the planks are off I pull up the last part of the window. To my dismay, it makes a pretty loud creak.
I hear foot steps and I pick up Kaylyn, for her foot was still hurt. The door burst open. "Hey!" Is all I hear before the sound of wind over takes everything else. I hadn't noticed that they had put us of a third story room until I was falling.
I tuck Kaylyn under my chest and make myself take the fall. My upper back hits the ground first and I roll back onto my feet. Some people hear us and look out. It seems that all of the town was in on whatever those guys were talking about before because they all take out whatever they can use as a weapon and start to chase us.
Can we not have one normale week, where nothing happens out of the ordinary?
I run my tired and damaged legs towards the forest once again.
I was almost there, but the caught up and surrounded us. One of them was about to speak but I didnt give him a chance.
I drop Kaylyn on the ground and snapped his neck. I stand over his body twitching.
I had always known that my sanity was wearing thin. I just didnt tell anybody or let it show. I had now had enough. I was losing my sanity to a small worthless town that thinks it can kill me! Wow I think ishould teach them all a lesson. Yeah, I'lll do that! I turn my head to the closest person and give them a sickeningly sweet smile as I jump in them and twist their neck as well. All the others look at me in pure terror, even Kaylyn.
I take a deep breath. "Aahhh, do you smell that? Yep, thats the smell of fear! Doesnt it smell so good?" I slowly walk up to another person, who was frozen in fear, just like all the others. I take her broken bottle piece and stab it I to her head. She screams in pain and falls to the ground. I step on her neck and crush her windpipe.
All the deaths of the villagers were bloody and gruesome from that point on, and I loved ever moment. But when Kaylyn tried to crawl away, it sent me even more over the edge. I buried her in all the dead bodies of the people, the ones that weren't torn to pieces that is. "Avery! Please dont do this! Dont you remember me? Its Kaylyn, your sister, your twin, your best friend!" She pleads as she tries to wiggle out from under the bodies.
"And thats the only thing you ever saw me as!" I yelled as I light a match I found in some guys pocket. "What do you mean Avery?" She yells. "I love you!" I screech. "I love you and I always have! Every since we ran away! I loved you for so long but I could never have you! You always saw me as a sister and not a lover! So if I cant have you, no one can. Yeah! No one! No one but the flames! HAHAHAHAHABABAHAHAB!!!!" I laugh like the madwomen I am and through the match onto the pile of bodies.
I smile as I watch the bodies burn, and Kaylyn with them. When my work was done I walked to the edge of the woods and vanished never to be seen again.Or so I thought...
-Back to Present day/
"And thats how I got here!" I say happily to the person in front of me. "Hmm... I see..." he says. I hear a banging on the cell down. "C'mon Carmen. Its time to back to your own cell." The guard comes in and grabs Camren's arm and takes him away. And I'm all alone again. I guess thats what I get for letting my go. Its a shame no one visits me in this insane asylum. I could use some friends other than the voices in my head. Oh well, maby tomorrow.
