The First Trial

"Natsu?"

"Why did it have to be him?" Gildarts said head in palm. I had caught a whiff of his scent through the entrance of the tunnel. The night before, us S-class sailed here to Tenoru Island to set up the S-Class trials. Now me and Gildarts are stuck in a tunnel and Natsu is running down it.

"Gildarts and Kk? This is going to be awesome!" Natsu exclaimed. "You can take this Gildarts." I said patting him on the back. "Why do I have to do the work?" He questioned. "Because." Was all I said as he rolled his eyes. The battle began and I didn't pay much attention to it only watching what to dodge. Then Gildarts exploded Natsu.

"Whoops I went to far." I hit him on the top of his head. "Really? You had one job." "I'm not good at holding back." "Just let me handle this." I sighed and waited for what would happen next. A bunch of mini Natsus were standing in the now settled dust. "Are you kidding me?!" I turned to Gildarts and he shrugged. I turned back around and the pack of wild Natsus were trying to attack me. I sent them flying with a water stream and just continued to keep them at bay.

Finally they turned back into regular Natsu and he tried to hit me with his Fire Dragon Roar. I jumped up and flipped over Gildarts and tapped him on the shoulder. "Tag." "This a tag team battle now?" "Yes and this time I'm trusting you not to screw up." "Don't worry this will be over now." He said as the magic energy around him expanded. It was suffocating, overly powerful. When he released it Natsu was on the floor. "I admit defeat." I stared at him wide eyed. He has never admitted defeat. I missed half of Gildarts speech, but I did here, "You can go on." "Aww you're going easy on him." I whined. "He's proven himself he's wasn't going to beat both of us." "Whatever." I scoffed.

We headed back to base camp that we had set up and everyone was already there. By the looks of it Juvia, Lisanna, Freed, and Bixlow lost. "I'm going to go back to the guild." I heard Gildarts voice behind me. "We'll join you." Freed and Bixlow left with Gildarts while the rest of us enjoyed ourselves. We were sharing stories when I felt a sharp pain in my side. I hissed in pain and everyone looked at me. "Are you alright? Did something happen in the fight?" Mira asked. "No it's nothing." "Where are Mest and Wendy they should be back by now?" "I'll help you look." I said.
