Chapter 23

George's PoV

Why did Katelyn leave so suddenly?

Were her cuts from Lester?

I should go check on her.

It's raining so hard outside she must be sick from being outside for so long.

*Minutes Later*

I finally got to her house.

Am I bothering her?

Lester's PoV

She was really sick.

She kept tossing and turning in her sleep.

I let go of her.

I got up and walked over to the window to see how hard the rain was.

George was outside.

I went downstairs and quickly opened the door before he could ring the doorbell or whatever to wake Katelyn up.

"Hello, is Katelyn home?" He was removing his hood from his eyes.

"Yeah, but she's sleeping. She got really sick. Would you like to come in?"

"Thanks." He walked inside and up to her room.

I walked into the room, he was sitting on the bed next to hers.

Katelyn finally stopped tossing and turning.

George heard me come into the room.

"Did you cause Katelyn to have cuts on her arms?" He glared at me.

"No, why would I? I have the same exact cuts."

He looked at my arms.

"Why is that? Did you mark her to make you hers?" He stood up.

"No way. My brother is crazy and he gets drunk all the time."

Katelyn woke up.

"What's going on?" She sat up.

"Nothing."

"What's George doing here?" She looked at him.

"He was here to check on you."

She started coughing.

"I'll go get something for you to drink." I walked out of the room.

George's PoV

Lester walked out of the room.

"So I've thought about you for a while and-"

"I'm sorry George but, my heart is for someone else right now." She looked outside.

I couldn't make eye contact with her.

My heart was breaking.

"I missed my chances,didn't I?"

"I guess you could say that." she looked at the door.

Lester walked back in.

"I'll be going now." I walked down the stairs and out the door.

It was still raining outside. But it was light.

Lester's PoV

"What did he come for?"

"He came to tell me he still has feelings for me. What did he talk to you about?" She gestured me towards her.

"He was asking about our cuts."

I put the cup on the desk next to her bed.

"Oh. Well I still feel sleepy..."  She pulled me down.

"Will you stay with me?" She pressed her forehead onto my arm.

"Okay."

I pulled the covers over her shoulder and mine.

"I told him I don't have feelings for him anymore." She turned over and looked into my eyes. 

"You did?"

"Yeah, you know who I love." She pushed hair out of her eyes.

"No I don't."

"I thought you do." She looked sad.

There was silence for awhile.

"I love you." She hugged me.

"I love you too."

She fell asleep.
