Why do things in this world have to be imperfect? Why can't it just go smooth? Why can it just be peaceful? I ask myself these questions time and time again, hoping they get answered, but of course, I never find those answers. . . I am doomed to live in it.

"David, I asked you a question." Henry snaps his fingers at me to get my attention.

"What?" I ask.

Henry seems to get frustrated, "I asked you how you mange to patch me up, what fruit?"

I shake my head trying to clear it, "I risked my neck for it, you better stop asking questions and just be happy your alive."

He doesn't seem satisfied, "Where did you get it?"

I sigh, "Fine! If you want to know so bad, I took it from some trees I found. They were being guarded by those things. . . those things that did this to you."

His head tilts to the side, "Why are they guarding it?"

I shrug, "It could be that their farming it."

He chuckles, "Animals don't farm or at least they certainly do not."

I nod, "They're smart, you haven't seen them as I have. They have this weird thing with them, like a community or family."

Henry just shakes his head, "Well, do you know what they are?"

I nod, "I was told by someone, they are dinosaurs. . . Velociraptors."

He burst out laughing, "Raptors? Like the basketball team?"

I punch his leg, "Listen, stupid."

He punches me back, "I am listening, I am just not believing. You do know that dinosaurs went extinct right?"

I nod, "Yes, I am well aware of that, but for some reason, these dinosaurs survived and are living on this island."

He sighs, "Your crazy."

Henry's words hit my like a brick. Maybe he's right, maybe I am losing it.

Just then, just as I was putting it out of my mind a figure pops out into view behind Henry. My finger goes up and points in the direction of the figure. Henry turns around to have himself a look, is gasp confirms my sanity.

A raptor stands almost an arms reach away.

With almost a stutter I say, "What are you doing here?"

It roars at me and walks over to smell my hair. I have no idea why.

Its calls begin to form again, just like before.

"I guess you used it on your kin here. I know you understand me so I'll make this quick. This was the last time we see you. After I leave you will go to the far side of the island, away from this territory. If you don't, then I will come back with an army. We will wipe you from the face of this ground. You will know what pain is. Do you understand?"

I don't want to answer, but I nod and look at it, "I understand."

It growls, "I'm guessing that means you understand. If not then, good luck surviving tonight."

It hisses at me and runs back into the woods.

Henry looks at me, "What the fuck was that? You understand. What is that bull-"

I interrupt, "He wants us to leave is territory, if not, then he is going to come back and kill us."

He scoffs, "Don't pretend like you understood what that thing said."

I lift myself off the ground, "Am not pretending. It would be best if we get moving as soon as Melissa returns."

After about an hour Melissa arrives with a bucket of water, "It was where we dropped it."
