Hello everybody! Athena1919 and Artemis1919 here! We've been planning this book for a while, as we're both really into Code Lyoko. For those of you who don't know what Code Lyoko is, you have two options. Either keep reading for a little ways because you don't need to know at this point, or go and search it on Google or Netflix. On Netflix the prequel is the last two episodes of Season 3, the first episode doesn't explain anything.

Anna's POV

To say I was ready for a weekend of relaxation with no responsibilities or tests or school in general was an understatement. On top of a challenging quiz in my Pre-Algebra class, in which I was pretty sure the teacher didn't like me, I'd had to put up with a test in Physical Science. And, lucky me, because it was second semester, the teacher decided we didn't need extra credit on our tests any more. So I said goodbye to my days of getting 103% on her tests.

I suppose, looking back, that I should've known something was going to happen. I'd had a pent-up, charged feeling all day. It wasn't anything too alarming, I figured I just had a lot of energy to burn off after sitting around for 8 hours, but it wasn't really a physical feeling. It was more mental, like I was on high-alert. Waiting for something to happen. At that thought, I chalked it up to being nervous about those assessments in school. But I'd felt that before, and this wasn't the same. So maybe it was about my best friend's party that night.

Keita had lived right down the street from me ever since her family had moved into my neighborhood when I was in 1st grade. At the time, Keita had been in kindergarten, but we were fast friends. The bus to school wasn't so bad, since we sat next to each other every day.

Currently, I was in 8th grade, about to be a high school freshman- meaning I'd be on the bottom of the food chain, again- while she was working through her 7th grade year at the same middle school. Sure, we didn't get to see each other that much between classes and all, and we had our own friends, who were our age, but that sort of only made us closer. You know those people who you only see in school, and you're not super close with, not personally? So you can only really complain about lit essays together and help each other out with math problems? Yeah, we were the opposite. Maybe it was the distance of our houses, but I'd like to think it was more. Anyway, we grew up together. Practically lived at each other's houses. We were basically sisters.

So, being that that day was a Friday, and Keita's 13th birthday had passed during the week, she was having a sleepover at her house that night. I knew most of the people going, given that some lived on the same street as us, but what I was really excited about was that she'd also invited two of my closest 8th grade friends, given that she was pretty close with them from all the time they'd spent together at my parties and such.

I got off the bus at about 4:07 after waving to Keita, who was still in our seat, and shoving the back of her younger brother's head into his book as I walked past him. They'd get off one stop after me. Ignoring her brother's indignant shout from behind me, I smiled and wished the bus driver a good weekend, and then descended the steps onto the pavement at the head of my cul-de-sac. As I got to my house, the third on the left, and pulled out my house key to unlock the door, my phone started ringing. I groaned and answered it before balancing it between my head and shoulder and inserting my key into the lock on the door.

"What is it, Keita? I literally saw you a minute ago," I complained, wincing as my dog started barking from the box he was cooped up in.

"I just wanted to go over some details for the party tonight," Keita replied, "we're still marathoning Code Lyoko, right?"
