Hikaru P.O.V.
I held Adrienne in my arms, smiling softly as I watched her sleep. Call me creepy but, just watching the rise and fall of her chest, I was fascinated. Her tan skin was still so soft and smooth; she still smelled like apples and flowers; she still moaned when I kissed her neck just above her collarbone. Nothing had changed, but she was completely different. Her once flawless skin was covered with tattoos. A dragon up her right leg, a dreamcatcher tatted on her left calf, a grim reaper on her thigh, wolf paw prints on her left and right hip; the band on her left arm had remained untouched, serving as a border between ink and blank flesh. She had a yin & yan symbol on her wrist and a teal ribbon on her forearm. Her right arm was covered with vines, pixies, and roses; it was so colorful. There was a purple butterfly on her right forearm and a pink one just above the bend of her elbow. The pink one had 'Lily' written under it in cursive, and the purple was labeled 'Rose'. There was a crescent-shaped scar on her right breast, and stretch marks that ran vertically all over her stomach, but were horizontal near her hips. For all of her flaws, she was even more beautiful. I ran my hands along her sides and she shivered, rolling towards me in her sleep. I smiled and wrapped my arms around her, finally allowing myself to fall asleep.I woke up to sunlight in my face. I sat up and looked around groggily. I was in an empty bed in a strange room, and my head was killing me. Then I remembered the night before. I was drunk, really drunk, and then there was A.J. We had made love, and we had slept here, but now she was gone. I got up and scrambled around for my clothes. I pulled my phone out of my pants and checked it. Seven messages and three missed calls.
Missed Calls:
Kaoru
Kaoru
A.J.Messages:
Kaoru- Where are u?
Kaoru- Seriously, where did you go??
Kaoru- WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?
Kaoru- This isn't funny bro. I'm ready to leave.
Kaoru- I'm leaving without you if I don't hear from you in 5 mins.
Kaoru- Okay, byeeee. Have fun finding someone to bring you the hour drive back to campus.
A.J.- I am...so sorry. Forgive me please.I texted Kaoru to let him know I was alright, then I called A.J. Three rings and then it went to voicemail. She had rejected my call. "Hey, A.J. About last night...I hope you're not mad at me or anything. Not exactly what I had planned. Call me back." I hung up and finished getting dressed. Haruhi and Tamaki were downstairs with the staff cleaning up everything from the night before. "Hikaru, I didn't know you stayed, too," Haruhi commented. "A lot of people stayed though. I just thought all of them were gone already," Tamaki responded, smiling devilishly at her. She returned the look then glanced up at me. "Did you stay with Adrienne?" I nodded a little. "Yeah, my brother ditched me last night and she up and left, so...I'm kind of stranded. Can someone get me back home?" I asked sheepishly.
I got back to my dorm around three in the afternoon. I had called and left several messages, but I still hadn't heard from Adrienne. It ate at me, until I couldn't take it anymore. I texted Kaoru to let him know I was taking the car, then I grabbed my keys and left. I raced as fast as I could to the only place I knew where to find her: Jeanie's. I spent an hour on the road, thinking of nothing but A.J. I barely pulled to the side of the road and parallel parked before jumping out of the car and sprinting into the building. I was on the top floor in record time, pounding on the door. She opened the door, her eyes widening when she saw me. "Hikaru! What are you doing here?" she exclaimed. It was just like high school all over again. "A-Adrienne," I panted.

I was in the kitchen with Lily and Rose. They were sitting on the counter while I made hamburgers for dinner. The radio was turned on and they were singing loud and off key to whatever was playing. I tried to sing along and seem happy for them, but my thoughts kept wandering to Hikaru. I had gotten up while it was still dark; the clock beside the bed said it was 5 a.m. I came home and cried myself back to sleep. The loneliness I felt when I left was unbearable. But even worse than the loneliness was the guilt I felt for running out on Hikaru like that. I thought about calling him and apologizing, maybe even try to explain, but I was too ashamed. I felt absolutely rotten for leaving him. I hoped he would understand. He didn't need me and all of my problems. "Chow time," I murmured as I picked the girls up and set them at the table before going back into the kitchen. I cut the stove off and started serving dinner. Rose stared at her plain burger and whined, "Mommy, I want--"
