The ground was iced over and sleek. The winds were blowing fiercely and wildly. The land was covered in white, and the the sky was a thick, white mist. It was blinding to their eyes and the snow seemed to hold on their feet, refusing to let go. Winter had given them it's worst.
Levy took the map out of her backpack and unrolled it. The worn paper was now slightly damp from the chill. She scanned over it quickly and found what she was looking for. She looked up into the white in front of her and saw the outlined figures of the others.
"The map says we only have to look for a cave about 100 meters in front of us!" Levy yelled to her friends over the wind. She heard their muffled replies in affirmation.
~ Time skip ~
They soon reached the rocky entrance of the cave and entered. The roof was dripping and the cave was wet, but it protected them from the wind ripping wildly outside.
Wendy stood in front of a huge rock with a mysterious body imprint. Wendy ran her hands along the sides as Lucy and Levy walked over.
"That's amazing.." Lucy breathed out in awe, hand tracing delicately over the inscription. It was worn with age, but the imprint of the body was clear as if it was carved that day.
Wendy nodded to her and retracted her hand again and they continued their journey in silence. The cave got darker and darker until there was only a very pale light through the cracks. Suddenly a large rumble was heard. It shook the walls and the ground violently. They all stopped and looked around alarmed.
Erza drew her sword out and looked around. Lucy got her keys and got into a defensive stance, and the others soon followed. Another rumble was heard before a loud screeching sound echoed through the cave.
It soon fell silent again, but no one stood calm yet. Erza narrowed her eyes and said calmly, "We'll continue onwards, but stay on your guard everyone."
The rest of the journey into the cave was spent in tense silence, every girl on their guard. A small animal crawling between the stalagmites let out a small hiss and Wendy screamed in terror, bumping into Erza. Erza readied her sword to deal with the enemy, before she realized what caused the noise.
She glared sternly down at Wendy, who averted her gaze and stared at her boots, cheeks aflush.
A small silver energy formed in front of them and started growing larger. The magical energy it was displaying was almost too much for their senses to bear.
"Run!" Erza yelled as she too started to retreat. They couldn't even make it four feet before the energy started to pull them in.
Wendy, Levy, and Lucy all screamed as their footing was lost. Lucy scrambled onto a sizable boulder and grabbed on the jagged side. Levy hoisted herself onto the wall and held on for dear life. And Wendy grabbed onto Lucy's leg. With a burst of dark magical energy, Mira transfigured into her base Satan Soul form and used her wings to propel herself against the wind. Erza requiped into her heaven's wheel armor.
Erza stabbed her sword into the ground and Mira sank her claws in the walls. But the portal had already long overpowered Wendy and Lucy with their significantly weaker strength. Wendy screeched as she was sucked into the hole with Lucy not too far behind her.
"Lu-Chan!" Levy cried out in terror as she saw her friends disappear into what could have been their last moments.
The portal only grew larger and stronger in response. Erza's sword made a cracking noise as a crack traveled up the center and broke.Erza disappeared as well.
Mira growled and flapped her wings as she released her hold on the wall. She struggled to fly over to Levy. She grasped the smaller girl's waist and started flying towards the entrance. Trying was the key word.
Her wings fought as hard as they could against the force but her wings soon gave out with a series of cracks and sharp cracks and snapped.
Both teens gave strangled cries as they were consumed by the portal.
Soon after...
The portal vanished.
