"Who are you?", he demanded, the leader of the group I assume.
"I..we...um........ survivors?", I'm glad I even managed to get noise out.
"Answer my question!", the scary, tall man demanded again,
"I'm Hunter Noll, and this is my girlfriend, Adriana Parkers.", Hunter told them.
"Hunter", I shyly whispered to him, "What?", he pronounced, loudly, and clearly.
"Sshhh, we don't even know these people," I whispered to him again,"why should we trust them?"
"Can we trust You?" Hunter asked them. He was always something of a smart ass, and he always got loud when he was excited, too. He must be excited about the alliance that's hopefully going to form.
The group had a lot of men, about 5, all in their 30's it seemed. There were only 3 women, 2 of them were standing close to 2 of the guys, so I'm assuming they're married, but one was a single mother with a little boy, about 5.
"We were going to go up to Washington to get help, I mean, who's knows how far this thing has spread.", the leader of the group of survivors pronounced.
"That's stupid.", I quietly and sneakily whispered to Hunter.
"What was that, little girl?"
"Okay," Hunter said offending me, it was actually cute for him to defend me like that, "are we gonna team up, and fight? Or split up, and do whatever?".
"Depends. What are you two tweens gonna do?", he hissed when he said the word tweens. This man was starting to get on my nerves a bit.
"I dunno. We actually didn't plan any further than finding someone else." Hunter told them, sounding like he was trying to get back at the leader for his rudeness.
"What do you mean?" the man said kind of harshly.
"Well, we came here to search for help.....survivors, and, um, well, we found some.", Hunter said, sounding tired and defeated.
"Barely.", the short, blond woman, who looked like she was in her twenty's, said from the back.
"What?", every word that man said was hinted with venom.
"Well, I just meant that, um,", she said shaking.
"What did you mean?", the leader demanded.
That's it, "Stop it!", I couldn't contain it any longer, "You think you're so much better then every one in here, when really, you're all survivors, we're all survivors, we all deserve to be treated with respect!", I stormed outside to the front porch, not caring anymore if I attracted any attention.
I just wanted it to be over. I want these mutations to go away. I want to live normally again. I want to be able to feel free, and not have to watch my back every second, every day, so I don't die.
I could still hear them talking, it sounded like a whisper to me because the walls were so thick, but I could hear Hunter telling him how my attitude had been bad since the mutation broke in.
I didn't care, that guy was mean and disgusting.
Then the door started creeping open, and the women with blonde hair walked up to me. "Thank you." She said politely.
"No problem, has he always been like that?" I asked her.
"I wouldn't know, he saved me from the monster, and I've just been with him, and the rest of us, for protection ever since.", she replied.
Just then, Hunter and the man walked out, and the man had a creepy smile on his face.
"Adri, Xavier and I have decided that we should all go up north,", so now they're on first name terms? What happened in there?, "We're gonna go up north to get help.". What if there is no help?
"Fine I'll go, but who knows if we'll find anything. I'm just going to support all the survivors, who do care, about what has happened to their country and the people in it.", I said, looking over at the rest of the group.
"Good, let's leave on Friday.", Xavier announced. Today was Wednesday, a week and one day since my family didn't come home.
That'd give us a day to map, plan, and pack for our journey to Washington, U.S.A.
I hate to leave my lifelong home Oregon, but it couldn't be much worse up north, than it is here.

Okay, so I'm still editing the format of the paragraphs, and once I'm done with that, I'll come back to actually rewrite the chapters.
I won't be changing the storyline, just the descriptions, and adding some stuff.
Anyways, keep reading!!
Thx,
