I drove down the hill accompanied with my beautiful baby girl Harley. I love that girl she's my motivation, not only for singing but for everything. I always think "I gotta do it for her" . She's the reason I'm where I am. However right now I'm on my way back to Louisville to drop her off to her mom. We aren't together anymore. We split when Harley was 1. I'm dropping her off for a week. Every other week I get her. This upcoming week I go on tour so I can't even get her. I think about that until Harley speaks.
"Daddy, I have to go potty" I make a face in the mirror for her to laugh and say

" Eiw you gotta go poopy? That's nasty." I joke.

She laughs "Noooooo. You gotta poopy!"

"Ewww!" I pull over to a Kohl's. I get out and unbuckle her from her car seat. This isn't my choice of stores but it is the nearest restroom. We walk into the store I earn a few gasps and "Aww's". I'm so glad nobody really got in the way I was trying to be in and out.

   "Ooh Can I have it?! Pleeeeaaseee!" Harley yanked my arm multiple times. She picked up this plush Mickey Mouse toy.

  "I thought you had to use the bathroom." I say

    "I changed my mind I want this!" She yelled and smiled. How could I say no to her. Whatever.

   "Okay, do you still have to go to the bathroom?" She jumped up and down.

      "No daddy, come on!" She dragged me to the checkout. There was a bit of trouble there.

"I don't care! Now get to your station. Now! Before you lose your job!" The man, most likely the manager screamed at the girl who was teary-eyed. She walked over to the checkout line we were in and put her apron on. She looked at me and Harley and quickly looked down. She sniffles.

     Harley gasps and said " Daddy she's crying!" Her face was priceless she really felt sad for her. The girl took Harley's toy and rung it up. I wanted to say something but all I could do was stare.

   "That'll be, um" she sniffles "13.58" she continued. I handed her the money and she collected the change she owed me. She held her hand out for me to take the coins. But before I did I asked her if she was okay.

  "Are you okay?" I asked looking at her just analyzing her features. Not that I could see much. All i saw was her red hat that read "Kohl's" and her long hair.

   "No, um here" she said moving her wrist indicating the coins she wants me to take. I couldn't help it she seemed ashamed, or shy, something along those lines. I reached for her chin and lifted her head up. She stared into my eyes and I stared into hers. It was like a second but I let her chin go. She put her head back down so I asked;

    "What's wrong?"

"Nothi-"

      "What's wrong?" I ask again. A tear ran down her face, I was tempted to wipe it but I knew my boundaries.

  "Nothing." She shrugged nonchalantly. She jiggled the change one more time. I looked at her hand and gave up. I took the change, gave Harley her toy and we left.
We drove off to Louisville and I dropped her off to her mother. On the way there I couldn't stop thinking about what was wrong with that girl. I didn't even get her name. It's Whatever tho I don't have time for thinking about unnecessary things. I guess she was about to get fired, or maybe she was just getting yelled at- it's whatever, it's whatever. "Whatever" I kept repeating in my head. Whatever.
