Rylie's Pov:

Along the ride to Penelope's house I couldn't help but stare at everything outside the window other than my left side. You wanna know why? Well to first start it off was ONE I was close to kissing my childhood friend, TWO he's taken by my Bestfriend named Penelope, THREE I'm pretty sure that he doesn't see me that way. As I took glances at him, he look a bit down as if something was on his mind. I wanted to ask him what was going on but it seemed like it was a bad time so I continued to look out the window and occasionally texting Penelope.

As we were halfway to Penelope's house, the silence killed me so I couldn't help but to put on the playlist of Ariana Grande. First on the list was "Love Me Harder" and as the first 30 seconds passed, I could hear a little chuckle come out of his mouth. The sweet sound of his chuckle just gets me off guard and wished that I heard it more.

"What's so funny, you looser?" I asked

"It's nothing" he mumbled

"You Dork! Teeeeellllll meeeee!!

"Bruh, don't worry about it." He chuckled even more.

"Grrrr... You know that I hate you a lot right now."

"You won't ever hate me cause you love me a lot."

For so much that was true, I couldn't admit any of those feelings no matter how much I really wanted too. Just because I will always know I will forever be in the friend zone...

"Yeah I would always love you... As a DISGUSTING swamp monster in Scooby Do. "

"Woooow, I see how it is."

"You always know I'm kidding."

"Yeah"

After that the awkward silence washed over us again as we finally arrived to Penelope's house. As we walked out of the car, I noticed that Rykers car was outside Penelope's house too. Penelope walked out the house walked out and I noticed her running up towards me crying.

"YOU IDIOT! YOU KNOW HOW MUCH YOU WORRIED ME!" Yelled Penelope

"I'm sorry."

"I know you are but to make it up, we're all going on a double date to the movies and for Rylie to not be alone so I invited Ryker."

"Hey." Said Ryker

I couldn't help but sigh to Penelope's attempt to get me into dating Ryker. I mean it's a nice gesture but we both know that the both us is just really good friends... I think?

"The movie starts in 15 minutes so we should start going so Rylie you ride with Ryker and I'll ride with Ryland. See you guys there!"

Penelope jumped in the car and they left within seconds and we were following them. To be honest I've never rid in the car with Ryker before so I'm feeling nervous. Between seconds I never noticed how he looked when he was focused on anything. The way he gripped that steering wheel and eyes focused on he road and night lights shining his face made him actually look like a different person. I needed a distraction away from him and this awkward silence.

"Hey... Ryker?"

"Yes?"

"Can I play some tunes?"

"Go right ahead I don't mind."

Before he could even reply I was already connected and again I started playing Ariana Grande but instead of "Love me Harder" I thought that "Honeymoon Avenue" was better for the mood.

"I really have a beautiful voice."

Getting into the tune I never realized that I actually singing with it. I felt embarrassed and couldn't help but blush.

"No.. I don't really."

"Hey don't doubt yourself, if you love singing then just sing. I won't judge you  and it's fine to be confortable with me."

After that I felt like I could smile and let myself flow out. I don't know how he did it but now I am thinking that maybe Ryker is my way to finally replacing the broken heart that Rhyland has ruined.
