14 years later...
A loud banging sound woke Aurora up from her light sleep- she hadn't had a full nights rest in days- she was always dreammingabout a big dark hole. There was nothing remotely scary about it but it alsways left her shaken up in the mornings. She glanced up at her small digital clock on her nightstand and let out a small groan. She hated getting up but it was coming up to midday and she was still lying in her bed.
She trudged downstairs to the kitchen and saw her auntie making lunch, the banging continued.
"Finally, you're up, I was worried we were going to have to drag you from your room soon." Liliya smiled as she continued to chopping up carrots.
Aurora smiled back, "Sorry but you know I hate getting up and-"
Another louder bang interrupted her.
"The new family next door are moving in, and they have a lot of stuff, I sent Luke and Ryan over to help this morning but they didn't want any, so yeah," Lliliya said glancing at her neice, "And get ready we have to go and get more food and stuff for you and Ryan- school starts next week and we have nothing."
When Aurora reached her room she grabbed a pair of dark blue skinny jeans and a bright orange t-shirt and headed to the bathroom across the landing from her bedroom. She brushed her teeth and had a warm shower. After getting dressed she headed back to her bedroom and stared at her reflection in the mirror, strutinizing everthing. Aren't vampires suppoed to be breathtakingly beautiful and slim? she thought still looking at herself. However she was fine with her apperence- she wasn't skinny but a good healthy size, she had slightly darker skin, probably a milky tea colour and straight brown, almost black hair that reached her shoulders. Her best features were her eyes- they were large and normally very dark but they changed considering her mood; so she had to keep her emosions in-check around other people. Liliya had said they came from her witch blood. She thought back to the night her auntie had told her about the other side of her heitage, a few years back. Her grandma and auntie were witches and so was her mother before she had been turned into a vampire. That made her half vampire and half witch. She also remembered her auntie talking about how loving and caring her father had been.
The banging of the front door tore Aurora out from her thought and she noticed that her cheeks were wet. She always got teary when she thought of her parents but she would never know them because the slayers killed them, no, they murdered them without realising who the real murders were. She would hate them her entier life for killing her family.
Just as she was getting her stuff to go shopping the door flew open and Aurora's twelve year old cousin, Ryan, rushed in.
"Mum said that you have to come down so you can go shopping because aparently I'm no help so she needs you." After he rushed right back out her room before she could even say something to him. Ryan and her were close even though he was her cousin. He was really tall like his father but really skinny thought he ate like a pig. But he looked more like his mother with soft eyes and browny red hair.
Aurora looked at the spot her cousin was standing for a second longer and got up to leave.
"Right, do you have enough school shirts and socks?" Liliya's voice echoed through the half empty carpark as they hurried through the pelting rain towards the supermarket.
"Yes, but I have to go to the bookshop and get some stuff," Aurora's voice was muffled as her head was down, away from the oncoming rain.
You can go there now, seeing that it's only five minutes away, while I just finish up here," her aunt replied lowering her hood and heading into the store.
