Aurora zoned out while Miss Wright was talking about the slayer and it was only when Robyn poked her hard in the side that she noticed that people were getting up around her. She grabbed her blazer and bag and ran out of the room, needing to be somewhere away from the slayer. She was waiting outside the geography room when Robyn got there.

"That guy even makes our school uniform look sexy. It's a pity he's a year older; I wouldn't get the chance to stare at him through our classes," Robyn sighed.

He's not in our classes, Aurora thought relieved, that means that I don't have to face him at all. Happiness spread through her as she thought about it but then she thought about what she would do at break and lunch, and then what about in the corridoors, it seemed that there was no possible way she was going  to be able to avoid the slayer all together. But then again he wouldn't do anything at school, would he? There were too many witnesses and anyway humans are not supposed to know about the other things that dwelt on this planet other than them. That thought calmed her as she sat down in her place, ready for the lesson to begin.

All the lessons dragged by but finally it was lunch; Aurora looked around her as she made her way to the dining room and waited in line for her food, Robyn was right behind her. She kept getting concerned looks from her friend but every time she would return them with a small, quick smile. They found seats with their other friend: Simon, Lucy and her new boyfriend Timothy. Aurora had never liked him but she was with Lucy now so she just had to live with it. Lucy and Simon knew about what Robyn and she were and they only found out because there was no other way around it. She could still remember how angry Robyn's pack was at them but they knew that there was no other way around that if they needed to save their friends. Surprisingly both of them had taken it pretty well, considering their situation and they had kept the secret between. But anyway Aurora had a pretty good feeling that no one would believe them even if they were to tell someone.

She shoved her sandwich in her mouth greedily; she had been told plenty of times by both Ryan and Robyn that she ate like a pig. But a girl's got to eat so she might as well enjoy it. A slight shiver ran down her spine as she felt someone glaring at her, as if willing her to disappear right there. She spun around and her eyes came into direct contact with two forest green orbs that seemed to be accusing her of something she had done but could not remember. Aurora gave him a hard stare in return and then spun back around; she had noticed some giggling girls giving him hidden glances. He's going to be pestered by them for weeks, she thought smugly, he's going to be too busy to do anything. She turned her attention to the rest of her sandwich and enjoyed the rest of her lunch, trying to ignore the eyes burning holes into her back.

The day was over and Aurora was exhausted as she clambered onto the already packed bus; she was lucky enough to find a seat next to an old women reading a book. This saved her having to stand up for half the journey back home. She flopped down in the seat and pulled out her music and book. Glancing up from it she realised, to her horror, that it was him. The slayer. And he was coming right towards her. She quickly looked back down and tried to avoid eye contact and heard him slide into the seat behind her. She gulped thinking that he had to get off the bus before her- she stayed on the bus till almost the very end and by then most of the people had already gotten off. Aurora turned up her music and tried to focus on her book, but to no avail. She could imagine him biding his time, waiting for everyone to leave so that he could get to her. She could feel herself shaking, remembering the cut on the stomach. Aurora grabbed her things and without a second thought made her way carefully down the stairs of the bus, though it was still moving and sat down near the front. He didn't come down. She felt her body slowly relax but her mind remained alert. Though she couldn't see him he was still on the bus and she couldn't take any chances.

Her eyes were glued to the stairs-waiting for him to come down, but he never did. Countless people left the bus till she was the only one left on the bottom and she was positive that the slayer was the last one at the top. Great. Just great, I wonder if the bus driver would be able to stop him from attacking m, she thought looking at him. He was old and seemed skinny so there was no chance that was going to happen. Her stop was getting closer and the slayer had not yet come down and left the bus. Aurora's body was tensing up again as she pressed the bell. As soon as the bus came to a halt she was out, throwing a quick thank you over her shoulder to the driver. She half ran, half walked up the street. It was probably the fastest she had ever moved. She made it to her front door puffing  but very proud of her self; she was fumbling with her door keys when she heard heavy, deliberate footsteps to the side of her, as if someone wanted her to know that they were there. She looked to her side and saw the slayer giving her an evil smirk as he let himself into his house. Aurora literally fell through the door, her heart hammering hard against her chest- as the door opened. "The vampire slayer lives next door..."
