Aurora was shaken up.
Shaken up badly.
Never in her fourteen years had she thought that they would find her. She was practically more human then vampire, so no threat to them or other people.
As she sat thinking up in her room her auntie came in.
"What happened back there?"
Aurora could see the worry in her eyes as she replied," He followed me from the bookshop and then got me in the alley. I had no idea what to do," her hand automatically went to her stomach and rubbed it slightly. Luckily the cut hadn't been too deep but that didn't mean that it didn't hurt. Moments after hearing this her aunt flew out the room and rushed back in, seconds later with a small suitcase.
"We have to go, all of us, it isn't safe anymore. Especially for you Aurora. " She looked down at her folded hands. Aurora knew that she didn't want to to leave but she would do anything to keep her dead sister's daughter alive. She took her aunties' hands in hers and looked into her eyes. "I don't want to leave and I know that you don't want to either. Ryan's school is here; so are my friends and everything you know. This could just be a one off thing thing. The attack could simply have been chance because otherwise he would have had others to back him up- if there is one thing I have learned from everything I read and watch these papst few years about slayers is that they never hunt vampires alone."
Liliya laughed at the last part but seriously asked, " are you sure you want this? It could put your life at risk and-" Aurora cut her off, " I know you guys would drop everything and leave for me but it isn't necessary." She didn't want to talk about it anymore and Liliya seemed to catch onto that and got up to leave after giving her shoulder a reasurring squeeze. Aurora sighed sinking back inot her bed and closed her eyes. She would think about this all later; now all that was on her mind was rest.
When she woke up her room was dark with only the paley glistenling moon shining through the window for light. She stumbled to the door still weary with sleep. She grabbed some ice-cream from the frizer in the kitchen and went into the living room and found her uncle watching T.V.
"Isn't it a bit late for ice-cream? he asked raising his eyebrows.
"I'm hungry and it's never too late for ice-cream," Aurora countered, shrugging her shoulders and sitting down next to him. Luke stared at the screen for a few seconds longer before asking, "do you want to talk? I know that we're not too close but talking helps."
Aurora shook her head," It's cool and it doesn't really matter." She paused for a bit thinking for someting eles to say. "we have new neighbours; do you know anything about them yet?" she remembered.
"Not much, no but they introduced themselves as Gary and Susan Daniels when me and Ryan went over this morning. They mentioned something about having a son but his name has slipped my mind." He changed the channels aimlessly.
She looked at her uncle and realised thst he was pretty cool, well because of the fact his neice was half vampire; his wife was a witch; leaving their son being half witch or wizard or whatever they called them. "Thank you?" she said softly before leaving to go back to her room and falling asleep again.
The rest of the holiday went by in a blur and before she knew it she was making her way through the endless downpour of rain to her school with her cousin by her side. It was a long walk but it was always easier when someone else ws with her. Liliya had wanted to drive them but she was running late and Luke had already left. Though she and Ryan were a year apart in school years they both had the same form class. It was great but the classroom was right at the top of the school, this meant that millions of steps were to be climbed before they got there,
By the time they got there Aurora was completly out of breath and panting while Ryan just looked back and smirked; "and you call yourself a vampire," he mocked.
"Half. I'm only half vampire so cut me some slack," Aurora wheezed out.
Ryan just laughed and walked into the room; Aurora followed after and found her best friend sitting on the table looking out the window. She ran and pounced on her, sending them both toppeling to the floor.
Some of the people around them give them strange looks as they lay there laughing loudly. Robyn was a werewolf and had been off the entire summer doing some important stuff with her pack, so Aurora had not seen her for most of the summer and she had missed her. Robyn was beautiful with her deep blue eyes and long black hair. She was almost a head taller then her and she was a great friend.
They were both still laughing and didn't notice their teacher, Miss Wright come in. Only when she was towering over them did they untangle themselves and get up off the floor.
"Behave girls,we have a new student joining us today and you two are not giving a good impression laughing like a bunch of hyenas on the floor, are you?"
The other students were watching this silently with amused looks on their faces; Aurora herself was finding it hard to keep a straight face but calmed herself when Robyn nudged her with her shoulder and motioned towards the door where a boy stood. Aurora took a step back, gripping the table tightly, shocked and scared by what she saw infront of her. The boy gave her a look full of so much hatred that it made her cringe away. Robyn didn't notice anything while she oogled the boy as he made his way to the front of the classroom where Miss Wright was standing.
"This class," she announced," is our new pupil, James Daniels."
